We had a very light dusting of snow today, I think that's about it for this week, but tbe BBC say it should be about -8 to -12 tonight... :)

Should be fun attempting a wander to Asda during the night... :-rofl2

Well, if you think we've got it bad, try being a resident of London, Ontario over there in Canada!!!

You know, I forgot to mention, that iffy thermometer decided that in a 15 to 18 degree kitchen, it was 7 degrees.... :-rofl2

Definitely nad-retractingly cold outside when I went to asda at midnight, at least I had a warm sleeping bag to warm everything up again.... :-rofl2

I have just found the coldest place on earth: Mentioned earlier (much earlier) about my neighbour going to NZ for several weeks ............... well I've just been round to do fire, flood and security rounds and to move his Mail away from view and it is like an Antarctic winter in there.

Had to come back home to warm up before I venture out again to carry on with today's task list.

We've had very little snow recently but we did have an avalanche of snow from the roof pulling off the guttering and squashing my satellite dish, luckily there is minimal damage and it seems to be picking up the major satellites after I've quickly repositioned it, the guttering has had it though

Yes, a few battered and deformed gutters around here too ............ mine hasn't appeared out of the ice/snow yet.

Damage seems to be confined to South facing guttering where stuff is thawing faster.

Well back to the weather rather than wr's sartorial elegance or lack thereof, the Borders is now experiencing a flash thaw - its absolutely incredible how much snow disappeared overnight :D

However with the roadside ditches blocked with tons of snow the runoff from the farm fields has nowhere to go so we ended up driving through about 3" of water on our way into work this morning.

Long term weather forecast is for more heavy snow next weekend :(

We've had rather 'bland' weather the last few days. Some heavy night frosts and about a couple of hours of wet snow the other afternoon. The snow had all melted by the next day and I even saw a snowplough/gritter on the road!

Just been to Thirsk to get my ears lowered and do a bit of shopping and the problem right now is ruts: Snow in the middle of the single track lane hasn't melted but the wheel tracks either side of centre are clear ............... so one's ar*e scrapes along the snow in the middle, so to speak.

I've just been chasing up why my Flogas cylinders haven't appeared and the Depot ran out of bulk LPG. When they did get replenished, the Filling Lines were frozen up!
