Snow showers will become increasingly frequent and heavy across western areas through Thursday and will then extend to some central areas on Friday. Accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are expected in general, but with possibly 20 cm of lying snow in places by Friday evening. Snow will be accompanied by strong north or northwesterly winds leading to some drifting.

The morning started with a brief gale accompanied and succeeded by heavy rain, hail, then sleet.

Turned to wet snow, now heavy settling snow .................... haven't fully rid ourselves of the last lot yet!

I believed the weather forecast and fully stocked up on food and groceries yesterday. Don't really care if all we have to eat on Christmas Day is Lentils.

Just poked my head outside and it's a bit blowey but at least the rain from this morning has stopped. Temperature is a balmy 5C and no sign of snow yet.

It was snowing here at about lunchtime, now it's suddenly gotten very cold and the rain and wet snow have frozen solid, so, yeah, it's cold out there...
