Well be low zero this evening but a gloriously clear night so I decided to set the birdwatching scope up outside and have a look at Jupiter. All four moons easily visible even on low power
Allso had good views of the Orion nebula & whilst I was idly looking around had 3 faint meteors go over in less than 5 minutes all from the same radiant so must have been Quadrantids.
Our road is normally nice and quiet but you wouldnt believe how many cars went along in to 20 minutes I was outside - each one spoiling my night vision. Number 4 decided to have their outside security light on as well - managed to shield that one out by standing in the shadow of one of one of the 1m dishes
