Forecast to turn colder here but nothing sub zero or any sign of white stuff.

Managed to look at my motor and dish this morning (first time it hasn't rained or blown half a gale since we had that strong wind), it hadn't moved round the pole as I thought. The dish had moved 5 or 6mm round the motor stub however. It's still tracking the arc ok, though my USALS is set to 7.3°E and not 1°W to compensate. I'll try to get it moved back next week.

@ Tivù. I can recommend the 1M Gibi unreservedly. Stick a Black Ultra on there and you won't be dissapointed.

Thankyou, dear boy.

Will wait until we see if we make any progress flogging our current gaff, but that is probably the combo I'd go for.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 24 Nov 2010 to Friday 3 Dec 2010:

The period will begin cold, with many central and western areas having some bright or sunny spells. Wintry showers will affect eastern areas, particularly along the coast but these will extend inland at times. The showers will start turning to snow even at lower levels at times. During the first weekend, there is a risk of more widespread sleet and snow for a time, with the possibility of some significant accumulations in places. The cold or very cold conditions are likely to continue into the second week, with widespread overnight frosts and the risk of icy surfaces. There is a chance as we move into December that southern and southwestern parts will become more unsettled as rain, sleet and snow try to push up from the south.

That is quite a deflection, must have been a strong wind.

Time for an early Christmas present of a safer ladder. :-pachrist No point in risking your neck on that rickety thing.

It certainly was, however it's a tribute to the Clarke-Tech motor's gearing which has apparently remained where it should be.

I do appreciate the concern :):) But said ladder really isn't rickety, (unlike it's user) though I'll give your suggestion due consideration.

Well the weather forecast is horrendous here for the next week or so - heavy snow & bitterly cold - down to minus double digits.

Time to throw another boyscout onto the fire. :D

I'll take some pics if and when the white stuff arrives. :)

Since 17:00 theres been a good inch or so fallen... Satellite reception still good through the falling snow though, few breakups on 16e W2M but that's not the most powerful signal at the best of times...

Yes, my mum rang earlier this evening and said BBC1 NE was showing snow falling in Newcastle. None where she lives though which is unusual. Almost makes me homesick ...................... almost!!

Nasty here right now .......... At 07.30 there was only a sprinkling, but twenty minutes later the situation had changed dramatically.

I was out in the drive in my PJ's and Wellies trying to get SWMBOs car cleared and the white stuff was falling as fast as I could clear it.

When I finally made progress, the Windscreen Vipers were so solidly iced to the screen I used the car heater on full blast, half a large aerosol of De-Icer and 2 litres of hottish water to get her ready to roll.

As I type, It's just stopped and the sky is clearing
