Is it making a waka waka sound?

No....... but do you mean it sounds like Shakira and the World Cup song?? (sorry, wandering off into page 3 territory again)

PS: My Firefox in-line speel chocker suggest "Gibberish" for "Gibertini"

I changed to the Canadian English spiel chuckker long ago. It is much more sensible - though I have no idea why.

It suggests "Libertine" or "Gilbertina" (which apparently means 'bright oath' or 'shining pledge'!)!

She has been on TV twice this week singing that song live - someone should tell her the World Cup is over.

:-rofl2

A waka waka sound on a big dish can often indicate that a brown trouser moment is on its way.

Ah, thanks for the clarification!!

I don't think it's making a sound like that, hopefully it doesn't signal it's demise. No brown trousers though, only ex French Army camoflage combats. Would they suffice??

BBC reports that Pontins goes into administration

(so with that in mind)

'Bing - bong - bing', "Good morning campers, hi de hi (muffled shouts of 'ho de ho')",

"Well it may be pouring down and blowing a gale, but at least we can report that the satellite dish hasn't blown away and your favourite programs are available in the executive lounge. If you wish to pop outside, next to the petting zoo you will find an Olympic size pool is filling up rapidly should you want to go swimming."

Seriously, it is a little better here than it has been but still miserable. The wind has shifted slightly to more of a south westerly but is still blowing hard.

(and thanks to Ruth Madoc for the inspiration)

Getting extremely gusty here. My 120cm dish fixed to a pole bashed into the ground has just turned, so no Badr 26ºE for the time being. Had better think about doing things properly and cementing the pole in. I'm just so hopeless at "Bricolaje" (DIY).My only consolation is that the girls at the information desk at my local AKI aren't very knowledgeable either. Last time I made a perfectly reasonable query they went to get the private security man, who was in his fifties and knew what he was talking about!

We had rain and strong winds here yesterday......ALL DAY

Fortunately it seems brighter and drier this morning and luckily there seems to be no further movement of my dish. The attached photo shows the river which forms the boundary between our department (county) and the next. Normally you can jump across it!!

The farmer who cultivates the fields round us has (for the first time in 10 years) planted winter wheat, which you can see sprouting.......maybe it should have been rice??

The weather has calmed down a lot up here...

I was planning to set my dish up again today but a very busy weekend in London mixed with cold weather has left me quite ill... Which is a bit annoying as all I can be bothered to do today is lie in bed and watch TV, but now I have none.

Doubt very much you'll get just the boom arm. Maybe a new dish required Gordon.

Somewhere in between seems to be the answer.

Triax put me onto Visiondotcom (Satellite Superstore) who will only supply a complete hardware kit at £27.95 inc. VAT and Shipping.

But the entire Dish was only £47.50, so I have to decide whether to fix it or just look for a good home for what's left.

I'll try http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/items-wanted/185079-wanted-arm-only-td110.html here, of course

But this could be the shoppertunity to change to a Gibertini instead, which is where I wish I'd started!

Imagine how sick you would have been if a Gibby had got wrecked though.

Back to the weather - bitterly cold & heavy snow for some areas forecast for the end of next week. Brrrr!

Quite dense fog here right now.

Not looking forward to next week!

But at least I repaired my Boiler and can stay toasty.
