Yes, a lot of Brits are going home because of Brexit...:D:D:D

This also defies any logic whatsoever, if Brexit is so bad for Britain, then why return home to where all the bad will be?

Unless, of course, they expect France & the rest of the remaining EU member countries to take some sort of "punitive" action against UK citizens who stay in the EU  - I don't think that will happen in France - but you never know what might happen in some other countries like parts of Spain.

In addition I would guess that many ex-pats might not be able to afford to live abroad with the reduced value of sterling. This bearing in mind many are retired and rely on pensions.

There's the upside to this as well; any property sold abroad and then converted back into sterling will get a good rate coming into the UK.

My remark was rather tongue in cheek, however there is a lot of uncertainty about our status here. It's not really possible, even with a favourable exchange rate to use the proceeds from the sale of your French home to fund the purchase of somewhere in the UK. Besides which properties are very slow to sell here, even extending into years on the market. I'm not saying they are right or wrong in leaving for whatever reason. Better to say no more or this will descend into a polemical thread. Lets stick to the subject...

FWIW, I like the Continental sausage I bought in the local TESCO in Hayes - might keep me warm in the UK in the weather to come. Tomorrow seems likely to be colder than today - not that I'll be venturing outside the front door much apart from bringing the paper in !:)

That's what you almost inevitably get when you live "Up North" (having spent my Uni years in Leeds - much colder there than where I lived in Oxfordshire at the time)

Been snowing a lot up here since about midday, lots of people in college all worried about being snowed in and not being able to get home, meanwhile, the buses kept running, roads stayed open, and the sky did not fall and crush everything... :-rofl2

Still snowing a bit at the moment actually...

Just ventured out (and back) to Bell Ringing Practice and the lanes were extremely slippery, with heavy snowfall coming horizontally occluding forward vision! Not helpful.

Wine now.
