We are just outside the red zone & have moved anything that could blow around into the garage. Some very strong gusts here now, the dishes seem to be surviving so far although I suspect some realignment is going to be needed on some of the lnbs at some point!

Right in the red zone here in Fife

I’ve had my motorised 1.8m move around the pole I assume as the v box positions are wrong now.

Also ironically my weather station on a high pole has snapped and collapsed into my dishes

Darent go out to see the damage still blowing !

I shall be interested to see if my 1090 plane tracking antenna survives. The poles came out of the skip at work and arent guyed in any way. It looked like the antenna was trying to part company with the pole last time I looked - the electrical tape Id attacehed the colinear to the mast was coming undone

:-doh

The 28E signal strength on Forces TV (11836H) is going up & down like a yoyo according to the TM5402 as the gale lashes the dish. Its going from 12.5dB to 5dB! I must get that one mounted better - its far too exposed where it is atm

A quick look outside at half eleven - the aircraft tracking antenna is damaged & the felt on the garage roof is coming off in one section. Cant do anything about it tonight so Im not going to worry about it. Temporary repairs tomorrow best I can

The antenna is still receiving to over 100 miles despite damage :D

Couple of power outages overnight - and SWMBO tells me we had thunder and lightning. Wasn't aware of it myself!

Two of the suspect fence panels have been torn apart but everything else looks to have survived.

I’ve just had to go out and wipe the snow off my LNBs, except for my zone 1s. They appear to have survived so far.

No damage down south, no snow either. There are however no leaves left on the trees so I expect Network Rail will be making additional announcements for the next few days.

I've got plenty of leaves they can have.

Thanks!

I have 2x 1.8m Ravens, one of them is a stupidly over engineered roof stand and that thing hasn't budged an inch as one would expect in this storm, I kept the roof stand bolted into 3 concrete pads - got that one for about £100 on ebay, they had never installed it!

2nd Raven is one from Satellite superstore

Also got a 1.5m Gibby, 2x 1.2m Gibbys and a few smaller dishes dotted about

I've never actually properly motorised the 1.5m, Been sat there pretty much unused for a couple years

£100 is rather good value, how much for the other ?

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Roof & fences still intact and the dishes don't see to have moved in the wind! OTOH, maybe the Gibby has moved very slightly, because the signal levels have improved on Express AM6 at 53E this morning! :)

I know it sounds somewhat bizarre but I'm getting that consistently on the SX88+ in the lounge and then (when lounge system is switched off!) the SX88 and 5402M3 in the office - so the wind has either very slightly tweaked the dish in some way, or moved the house that normally blocks a good deal of signal from that sat:-rofl2

OTOH, still getting the radio stations on 45W on the TM so the movement is marginal at best.

OTOH2 - maybe the improvement is simply because the sky is very clear ATM???

your cabling must be a nightmare, how many receivers do you have!!

As I have no front garden and my house faces South, the dishes are about 100 meters away from the house so they are all fibre connected.

Handy in a way as you can then connect as many receivers as you need as optical can split with almost no loss of db.

My main receivers are:

2x 4K Vu solo
TBS 6908 Quad card
10x ZGemma H9S, These are quite cheap but have a good sensor and let you control via web interface

Technomate 5402 Mark 1, 2, 3 and 4... I love these guys.

Also have that new GT Media box on the way that claims to do 4:2:2

I have a box full of random Openbox branded receivers too which I sometimes dig out if theres an election on and I'm bored.

Part of my actual life job requires the dish farm hence why we spent so much money on it, but it means I get to go feed hunting when it isn't in use, which is like 90% of the time.
