Indeed ...I guess my luck was in ..
by 1:AM the hole had completely filled in but not often I get to see anything ..so was surprised to see 3 earlier ..one of those perhaps a little suspect ..as it dipped behind the troublesome tree..
But by midnight they appeared to be more overhead and travelling North South..
Gobsmacked to see one around midnight ..
Even more gobsmacked to see another 10 minutes later.
I've a stiff neck this morning ..but my patience was rewarded.

Thanks, I'm tempted to get it out again tonight (ooooer! ) as the forecast is for good visibility round here just after dusk.

I did take some the gearbox apart yesterday morning to check alignment of the various cogs, it looks like there was an option for motorising in the design, but the drive shaft is smaller than the usual suspects I keep stored in the box of satellite dish parts.

..Tempted to risk another round of 'stiffness' ..oooer missus...myself tonight..
Assuming there are still remnants of the Perseids to see..
Very light high cloud here ..and still sunshine atm..
As good a night as I'm likely to get ..so 10pm onwards..but can't stay up ...ooooer again ...too late as I have my hospital visit tomorrow.
Good hunting buddy
:)

And it's completely clouded over. Not a sniff of clear sky.

I think I'll build a radio telescope.

Very dark round my way, in cheshire, I was planning some work, on my dish, as the weather forecasters claimed it was going to be hot, and sunny, looks more like rain than sun !!!!!!!

Just been to Town (Three-day Camel Ride) and was really uncomfortable with the heat and the humidity - the lateer made worse by oppressive partial cloud cover.

Roll on Winter!

The saving grace here is a cooling Zephyr. Otherwise, too hot already for work on the dish.

Normal service resumed here ..as per ..
Not Hot ...Not Sunny... a little drizzle earlier ...Much Cloud...
Light breeze ...and definately _not_ the glorious 'Hottest day of the year' claimed by the grinning fool presenting the LondonCentric weather on the Beeb yesterday.

..but what else should I have expected..after all ..London is much like the Vatican in Rome...a country within a country.
;)

Still dark here, and odd spots of rain, I can't see us getting much sun today.
Hope it's better next weekend.
