Ah yes, I remember 'Z Cars'......are they still using them in East Anglia?

My neighbour had a Ford Zodiac, an absolute rustbucket.

I ended up taking the family to Hampton open pool earlier this afternoon, about 30 degrees or so in the shade.

After about twenty minutes in the pool we noticed two strange looking brown items in the shallow end, floating and slowly breaking up in the commotion, which was nice.

Wasn't chocolate though

It's nearly 10:45pm here and it's still 22°C outside....I'd have lit a barbeque but going off past experience (when we managed to burn down a small barn) I think the only party goers we'd have attracted would have been the local pompiers and gendarmerie.

According to the car dashboard thermometer it got up to the high teens here, so if you have been sweltering today spare a thought for us oop north where it was nothing more than a pleasant day.

Please, please don't trip over that Landmine (Remember, I've seen it in the flesh, so to speak) in the dark when you go out to turn your sausage.

Was reading 32 on the van thermometer, but the unit under the Mahonia was reading 28, so still pretty warm It was bloody sweltering up on a roof this afternoon.

Very difficult to "turn a sausage" in the dark....

Oh, and wouldn't dream of lighting a barbeque in the meadow, much better under the fir trees overhanging branches....damn, do you dial 18 for the pompiers?

Woke up to a hint of sunshine through thick cloud ..which got thicker and darker until it turned to rain..which looks to be in for the day..
Shan't bother going out today though ..so no need of a brolly..
Thank gawd for Skyrim on the Xbox.

As it isnt actually raining up here this morning Ive made a start on wiring up two new dishes that I put up a few months ago (52.5/53E & 42E). Now run out of f-connectors so had to stop.

:-doh!

Online shopping tonight :D

No sunshine but the humidity is horribly high - absolutely drenched in sweat in a few minutes. The weather station says its 83% humidity.

Sunny first thing, then cloud and many rumbles of thunder, now back to blazing sunshine. Consistently 29/30+ degrees though.

Nice morning here in t'Repooblic, but since lunchtime we've had several heavy showers. Quite mild, though - and not as humid as in the preceding days.

About three hours of rumbling, then some 2 inches of water are now sitting in our garden.

Good for the ducks.

Doesn't it Pee you off, though, that they haven't a clue half the time but when it's a bad forecast they can be split second accurate on the time? It's been like November all day today then at 5 o'clock the sky cleared and the sun came out giving 2 hours of a lovely evening.... just like the forecast said :(

I had a lovely three hours on a roof today, trying to improve the reception of a moderate sized dish, up a step-ladder in some rather windy/showery conditions.

The next two days look slightly better though.

Its officially the wettest summer in 100 years & the second wettest since records began.

Also the dullest summer since 1980 with sub 400 hours of sunshine up to the 28th.

Yesterday we had roads closed due to landslides round the area - thanks to a series of thunderstorms that passed over - and yet at my workplace in Galashiels it barely rained!
