Your dish looks like a mk2 or 3 Sky minidish so unfortunately the most commonly available Sky minidish specific LNBs (mk4) like the one in the Amazon link won't fit, they are 37mm. A universal 40mm like your Inverto will.

Is that LNB in the photo pointing straight down? It should be rotated to around 7 o'clock when looking from the front of the dish.

37mm is that the collar? I could tape some duck tape a couple of times around it and that should let me tighten the 40m clamp, what you think?
Yes the inverto is straight down. Should it be the bottom end should be at about 7 o clock?
Is that how i have to install the replacment aswell? 7 o clock
Thanks

Just check in the QandA on the amazon lnb and it has 40mm collar great. Is that a good lnb? Got good reviews
Thanks

No, TBH, ozumo got it slightly "wrong"

Looking from the LNB end, and at the top of that, it should be angled at around "10-11 o'clock" - i.e. the lower end of the LNB should be inclined slightly that amount to the righthand side of the top centre.
(BTW: for sats further East, that inclination increases as the Eastern Latitude increases - and the opposite is true for sats West of 0 degrees)

Let me get this right. So the lnb should be slightly to the right so i understand that to be the bottom end to be at about 4-5 o clock, correct?
Also is that lnb from amazon good or shall i opt for a different one?
Thanks guys

Yes, about "4-5 o clock".

No comment about the LNB on amazon.

any lnb is more than sufficient for your needs
if you going to have signal problem it will be because of skew , loose connection ,old wire or misaligned dish

even on difficult or weak satellite lnb makes not much difference its a dish size more important
satellite like sky is so powerful that cheap or experience lnb makes no difference

Sky specific LNBs have been 37mm for a long time, duct shape should work but it's a bodge. I stand by the 7 o'clock skew when looking from the front. Look up Sky dishes or have a look at the ones in your area.

Just search google images for photos of Sky dishes and look at the angle the cables are coming out.

By Sky specific I just mean any brand LNB designed to be installed on a Sky minidish - they are slightly different to universal LNBs.

I have read the lnb always has to turn clockwise so that makes sense to your suggestion of 7 o clock. As if it was at 4-5 o clock then that would be turning it anti clockwise.
I'll have a look at some images now

Looking at the pictures. A lot of the lnbs are angled to the left like 6 o clock. Ill take a look at some around my area later

6 o'clock would be straight down, Astra 2 reception is in the region of 6.34-6, looking from the front of the dish.

Labgear does make a range of LNBs which have a 40mm circular fitment, complete with clamp for Raven 4 style dishes

So is 6 o clock about right as you said Astra 2 reception is in the region of 6.34-6?
Labgear and the visionware look like the same lnb both have 40mm collar.

I moved my lnb to 6 o'clock position and guess what my signal strength on all channels has gone into 90% plus. No more glitching. I will update tomorrow when we are forecast rain to see if that affects it. Not bad for a 10 year old lnb. Learned so much from this forum. I see if the rain affects it then ill just get new lnb and fit it myself.
Don't know if i should get another inverto or the 15 quid amazon visionware one ir even the screwfix one.
All installers these days want between 80-100 just to change dish and lnb.

I get some interference when it rains so think the lnb has served me well for last 10 years. I'll order the amazon visionware quad lnb for £15 cant go wrong. Ill update once ive replaced. See what signal strengths i get
Thanks

Please let us know if the LNB is 40mm or 37mm when it arrives :)
