Oh gawd - they really are worried about one team dominating a season arent they. Although I can remember Ferrari & McLaren dominating the sport in decades past as much as RB have done in recent years - and eventually the tide turns and they slip back.

But if a team dominates and wins you could multiply the last race points by a factor of 10, it won't stop a dominant team winning and scoring those multiplied points. As to what next, who knows? Reversed grids? Mechanics having to run round the car with the tyres before changing them? Tyres that last most of a race?.....Actually that may be a good idea......

Always thought a point for the fastest lap would be a bit of a starter, but this double points for the last race seems to be a bit draconian...

A point for pole and a point for fastest lap would certainly get my vote.

What arefolks thoughts on the one driver one number idea. thats been the norm in America for donkeys years.

One obvious way of cutting costs is to limit the number of mechanics that can service the car.

Having a dozen or more people to change 4 tyres is ridiculous.

You obviously haven't been to Thick-Fit on a damp and cold Wednesday afternoon.

Avoided at all costs :D

I use the local independant unless Im away and need to get a tyre changed, or on a couple of occasions the exhaust has fallen off at an inconvenient moment. Then I'll use them in case there are problems, although there never has been so far

I don't mind the idea of a driver number and I can see how the marketing boys will welcome it.....A point for pole and one for fastest lap may work but again if you have a dominant car and driver...E.G. Vettel, how many times did he get pole and fastest lap as well as winning? From what I've read about Nascar they only allow a maximum of seven mechanics per car, (two tyre changers, two tyre carriers, a jack man, a fuel man and one to 'service the windshield and driver').

My word: How long does it take to service a driver?

German driver Adrian Sutil has completed a deal to join the Sauber team for the 2014 Formula 1 season.

4 more seats to be taken...the second sauber drive, the second marussia, and both caterhams...

None of which will be secured by PDR, unless he ingests vast quantities of humble pie.

Yes he banged his helmetted head on a hard rock whilst skiing, I heard first reports this afternoon however details were very sketchy then, but had not realised he was in a coma and had already had brain surgery, it does not sound good at all
