Jenson's father, John Button, whose cheery disposition was often a pleasant interlude during some of the less exciting Races in recent years, passed away two days ago as the result of a heart attack.

RIP.

I didn't think he was very old but apparently he was 70..... still not that old these days. I liked what I saw of him..... shame.

Ive had an email from Maverick saying the game reopens on Feb 1st - so although it seems no time since the end of the season, its already time to start thinking about your team setup :D

Just heard that finally
Bernie Ecclestone steps down from F1 board pending bribery trial.

Bernie Ecclestone has stepped down from the board of the company which runs Formula 1 following his indictment on bribery charges in Germany.

But the 83-year-old will continue to run the business on a day-to-day basis, Delta Topco said in a statement.

Ecclestone will go on trial to face allegations he bribed a German banker who is serving a jail sentence for receiving the payment.

He admits paying Gerhard Gribkowsky, but denies bribery.

I think a reverse grid should happen somewhere in the season

The F1 Forums seem to have settled on Anteater as the best description.

I prefer something more specific, like Tapir or Aardvark.

The new noses are just nasty

They are going to cause much more radiator damage in a t-bone type impact

Ah, just found the answer to my own question :
McLaren have not announced Boullier's move but sources say he will join as team principal in the near future.. Martin Whitmarsh, who had filled that role since 2009, has not been at work since McLaren announced on 16 January that chairman Ron Dennis had been appointed to a second role of chief executive officer, replacing Whitmarsh, and had been charged with turning the team's fortunes around.

Not F1, but Motorsports related.
Horrific crash at this years Daytona 24 Hours.
Malucelli was removed from his car quickly but it took some time for Gidley to be extricated from the badly damaged wreckage of his vehicle when the race was red-flagged. Both were then immediately transported to the nearby Halifax hospital.
Several hours later, a statement from race organisers explained that both drivers were awake and communicating.
"Memo Gidley and Matteo Malucelli have been admitted to Halifax Health. They are awake and communicating and are undergoing further observation," read the statement.
