Just guessing, but I think Fernando may need to use his second engine and gearbox for the next race....
Fernando was lucky to hobble away from that, you see unlike the commentators I can distinguish between walking and hobbling

Yes, was not pretty, but figure the " invisible halo " on the McLaren was working well, or was a higher authority involved!

Sky have F1 exclusive from 2019...
The British Grand Prix will be shown free to air, either on one of Skys free channels, or another broadcaster, as will highlights of other qualy and race weekends.

ANd from next year, Sky wil show F1 in UHD.

Congratulations to Blatherskite for scoring 114 on the first race with Force Nee Idea 1 - putting himself 5th overall across all the players in the entire game!

JimmyH scored 110 and is 16th overall with the Aqua Minerale team.

Superb tactical scoring lads - keep it up :D

And considering this was the first race of the season where scores are traditionally low for a couple of races until folks get to grips with the new drivers, new cars (& the new rules of course) it is impressive to see 15 of our teams scoring over 70 points in the league.

.

Crazy crazy - that'll kill F1 - look what happened to the cricket when they went pay only. The casual viewer lost interest.

Interesting though considering that F1 is very worried about declining interest in the sport atm......

Formula 1 chief Bernie Ecclestone expressed his delight at the new deal, saying: "Sky's commitment to the sport and standard of coverage is second to none."

It's a change from his position in 2011 - long before Sky inked its first Formula 1 coverage deal - when he said that switching to a pay-per-view model would be "suicidal" for the sport.

"They have been trying to buy the TV rights from us for a long time, but we won't because they are not free-to-air television broadcasters," he said back then. "They are a subscription service.

The "eliminator" qualy will be kept for the next race weekend... and then then will reevaluate it...

In order to do so, they would need to have a collective mind in the first instance. There is cause for doubt as to whether or not that is the case.

Borg, eh?

Sounds like a good name for a Team. Have you entered?

Not too late if you haven't.

It's pretty self-evident once you register an account.

Simple menus to enable you to create a Team (We all have two Teams in our league), to enter Teams in Leagues and to pick components for your Team.

You get an initial allowance of spending units and simply allocate them across a few categories like Driver, Engine, Team Principal etc.

It's just a bit of fun (For most of us ......), so do have a go.

You have a budget of £80million and have to make the best possible team out of this - there are 6 or 7 items with multiple items in each category each of which has a value. You can either have Lewis Hamilton at about £45million straight off and have the tail enders for the rest of the choices or make a more balanced team populated with cheapermidfield runners

The budget does increase a bit each race so over the season you get to improve the team.

Its all a bit of fun - we dont take it too seriously
