I wonder why transponders R4 and R6 have not moved to MIS yet, what's the point of keeping the Newtec transmissions when most of the channels are in MIS now?

Well R2 and R3 are still duplicated in Newtec as well as MIS, so maybe they're gradually installing replacement equipment at terrestrial transmitters before they launch R4 and R6 in MIS too (and turn off R2 and R3 in Newtec).

At present :
I can receive France 3 (picture and sound) perfectly.
I can only receive the picture (no sound) for France 2.
France 4 and ô gives no picture, no sound.

Does all of the above discussion mean that I have to hope that at some time soon I will be able to receive all in full or is there a workaround?

The lack of sound is because your kit can't handle Dolby Digital Plus.

I have the same issues.

The workaround is to stream it and use VLC to decode the audio, but it's not very practical.

The solution is to find a Receiver that can handle DD+

Lazarus, thanks for the reply.
This however does not, to me, explain why I get no picture on France 4 and O.

According to Lyngsat for Eutelsat 5 West A, France 2, 4 and O use AC3 codec for sound. (No codec is given for France3)
I can receive sound and picture on BBC1 and 2 HD from Astra 2 which also use AC3 codec, so why doesn't it work for the French programs?
Not being an expert, I am willing to believe I have a complete misunderstanding of the situation.

I've just tried France 4 and O, in case some parameters had changed since I last looked, but all is well with the Video.

So, on that score, I suggest you delete and rescan.

As for the Audio, don't take everything you see on listings sites as being gospel. I think the audio codec issue was clarified early on in this Thread, somewhere!

As for BBC HD Channels, they are Dolby Digital, but not Dolby Digital Plus. That appears to make all the difference.

Edit: Having just re-read the entire Thread, and looked at comments on other Forums, the inability of some Receivers to cope with D+ is hardware related.

Thanks for the research and the explanation.
Delete and rescan made no change.
Guess I have to upgrade my satellite box before everyone else changes to Dolby plus.
