Hi, I have a Birdog meter version 2.5. I have Satedit and can send transponder lists to it but I'm not getting a signal lock when testing. I created a list of SD transponders but can't see what I'm doing wrong. Please help!

Peyu75 has very kindly helped me get my HDSM V 2.5 (RJ45 connection) meters working again by creating a new satellite list based on those I chose from current transponder information. My model of meter can only receive SD transmissions so I tried where possible to use transponders used for minor channels that have no HD transmissions yet, assuming they are not likely to be switched off any time soon, unlike SD channels for ITV and BBC that are being phased out at this moment. He also supplied me with the Satedit program plus the associated user manual. You need the Satedit program (plus the special cable) to upload the satellite lists to the meter, but it can also create the satellite lists you will need, it's all explained in the user manual. However that part looks very complicated and that's why Peyu75 did them for me. I think he had some role in preparing the original satellite lists for Horizon some years ago, so he's the absolute expert for these meters.

Hi Bricklayer, I have the Birdog version of your meter. I can send a list I've created, but must be missing some details as it doesn't lock or show signal quality when testing the meter. I had two transponders working before replacing with ones that don't work now. Could you show what one of your transponder setting looks like on your program? It would be greatly appreciated

Guys, can any one PM me the latest list for Astra 28.2 for Sky in the UK I only have 1 out of 4 working and I’m loosing my mind trying to update it even if it’s the transponder freq and a way to do ot just a file would be amazing

Did you get that one transponder working yourself? If so, you've got the gist of it. Had trouble myself but figured it out in the end. Dvb S transponders are getting hard to find now!

I would like to ask people who sent me a request for a list for the meter and did not receive it to contact me.
I will also be grateful for feedback from people who received the letters, asking whether they managed to upload them and whether everything works properly or whether the transponder data should be changed.
I would like to point out that I do not have this meter and I do it by feel.
I put a lot of work into it and it would be nice if we got feedback that everything was OK.

Hi All,
I have a V3 USB HDSM satellite meter.
Astra 2E / Astra 2F / Astra 2G (28.2°E) - All transmissions - frequencies - KingOfSat

Astra 2E/2F/2G at 28.3°E - LyngSat

I used the above sites to find functioning DVB-S transponders for both the Horizontal and Vertical in the Low range, (ie below 11700 MHz) and then repeated for the High range (above 11700 MHz) for Astra 1, Astra 2 and Hotbird.
I'm having trouble though finding a transponder for the Horizontal High range for Astra 2 at 28.2East.
Does anyone have any suggestions please for 28.2E H-H?

You need to understand DVB-S is a dying transmission format. The newer DVB-S2 is more spectrum efficient (more channels in the same bandwidth) so broadcasters are slowly switching over. Most of the BBC & ITV frequencies have been switched to DVB-S2 in the last few months.

There is no longer any operational DVB-S transponder at H-H on 28E which is why you cant find one. More of the existing DVB-S frequencies will be lost to DVB-S2 in coming months.

Yes, I understand.
I posted the same information previously.
I just wondered if anyone knew of a 28.2E H-H DVB-S Tx that wasn't listed or common knowledge.
I might back up my STB's install info, do a blind scan and report back if there's any positive result.
I'm just trying to push out the time when my Horizon V3 USB DSM will be relegated to a rather expensive door-stop!

Try 11914 SR 27500 FEC 5/6. It worked for me a week or two ago. Not many SD transponders left so I'm switching to an S2 meter
