Well garyg all good things come to those who wait.Firstly nice result on the dish.Secondly it helps to have "old pros" in a time of crisis to lend a helping hand and finally no more unecessary expense buying another big dish.BTW your garden looks like the SKY- SNG centre, GCHQ at Cheltenham or ATC at Heathrow.Be careful you don't have that tosser from SKY- News calling out to do an uplink or any planes looking for ATC clearance before they land.As I said before when you get a few games under your belt it would be nice to do a roundup post on your experience.Definitely a candidate for a gold star stickie (syrup and all)

woke up this morning and signal is bad 44% :(

But... we setup the dish and started peaking the signal around half 3, thats at the hardest point of the day to get signal and was getting 55%, im not sure if thats because the satellite moves abit?? I am not sure... so maybe as the day goes on it will increase back up, we shal see!

Does it remain locked at 44% or is it absent or pixellating badly?

(Good morning, by the way)

Ok.

Lots of issues at play here ............... weather can clearly play a role, but time of day, time of year and many other factors can play a part. And not just factors affecting your end, but also things like the constantly varying attitude and exposure of the Satellite's solar panels can affect marginal reception.

garyg to clarify are you locked on to BADR 6 at 26e or Nilesat at 7w.I was just curious how both satellites were behaving. Also what was your Tring experience like.

badr6 26e mate, no chance of AB4a 7.2W in the UK.

Tring is "ok"... Picture bitrate is very low but they have the games as per schedules so i guess you get what you pay for :)

Tring works lovely in my cardsplitter aswell

gary have you considered trying another LNB to improve the signal..like Inverto Black Ultra(modified)?? i have cases with Astra2D here in spain ,,thru critical moments during the day i lose some channels from the north Beam completly (like Sky news HD)and that when using Invacom Quad QDF31 ,but swaping to the modified Black Ultra ...the signal´s back

Hi mate, what is the modified black ultra? Is it different to the black ultra or just another name?

Also the signals improving about 1% just under an hour at the moment and after speaking to someone he said after 12 it shoots back up. Stupid satellite! lol

Gary, not quite the same but I just checked my 1.2m on badr 4 and the signal has dropped for me from the usual 76% to 66%, although I wiped the raindrops off the lnb and it jumped back up to 70%. It just goes to show how much the weather effects fringe reception. I know you have a prime focus dish so rain on the lnb "shouldn't" be a problem but may be worth a quick check. Unfortunatley we can't do anything about rain/moisture in the air except pray! Hope this helps just a little.
