wow not seen a 2.4 in the flesh but from that picture I doubt you are going to have any signal problems on that beast. have you got a feed and invacom quad lnb to go on it ?

the 1.8 looks tiny compared to the 2.4 beast. the only thing I'm allowed is my cm 1.2 :(

From the weather patternings on the dish face you have obviously put the sections together in a different way to which they were originally assembled. Thats quite pretty

:D

Good luck with the testing and let us know how you get on and what you can get with it!

It says chaperral on the feedhorn but KU wideband on the actual lnb.

dish is up guys :)

1 pic attachaed, i will do a full story later, for now i need food!

looking at the picture i think you have checked the symmetry of the dish the wrong way ...the 2 strings should be accross the mid panel section not thru the joinings use the 4 holes as a reference

Do you have a picture of how to string it I can't find any info, I did use 4 pieces of string not 2, that string is still on the dish now I just haven't taken it off yet.

I did

Top to bottom

Left to right

Top left to bottom right

Bottom right to bottom left

Using that pic you posted as a guide you need to string from "10 oclock" to "4 oclock" and from "8 oclock" to "2 oclock".

The important gap is the one over the middle of the dish - the strings should meet in the middle :)

thanks mate, doues it just need to all meet on the middle or does all the string need to touch eachother aswell?

If it is out... how exactly can you adjust it?

Is there any pictures of how it should look?

me and my friend just stringed the dish.

Its not the best string but its all i could get my hands on.

Not sure how much you can see but all the string meets in the same place, and they all touch eachother to...

Im sure if there is any issues Rolf will help me on monday when he comes to align it :)

Now I am just waiting for the postman, hopefully he will have my c120 lnb bracket and my adjustable feedhorn.

Then I will fabricate the adapter, then its go go go for me and rolf monday.

This mount is so solid compared to my old 1.8m one, i can hardly move it with force!

Result!

I think the angle of the camera messes a few pictures up, its hard to get a straight on view due to the size of the thing!

haha, are you enjoying it that much? :D

I could try build a 3M next?!? ;)

no no no no 2.5m is the limit

I agree with Tivù, it's looking really good.

But Gary, what are we going to read when your thread(s) come to an end?...............wait, I have a copy of "War and Peace" here. I see similarities in word count alone!

But since the petals appear to line up nicely, with no exceptionally large ridges between the edges, I would say the reflecor is distortion free. The stringing confirms the overal parabola is true as well, so it should perform as per manufacturers specification.

A veritable bargain.
