I'm looking at it as a dispassionate observer this year - hopefully Salty will let me play properly next season ............

[fieldset=Button and Brawn clinch title double as Webber wins in Brazil] Hot from F1.com

attachment.php

Jenson Button went into the Brazilian Grand Prix looking for a miracle. And he found it. After 60 of the 71 laps, as Mark Webber swept to a dominant victory for Red Bull ahead of BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica and a fighting Lewis Hamilton, he had done enough. And a late puncture for Brawn GP team mate Rubens Barrichello, which elevated him to fifth, was merely the icing on the cake.It made him Britain's 10th world champion...

F1 SupaLiga 2009

Full table and graph attached

Jenson Button won the World Drivers' Championship, and Brawn GP also took the team title at Interlagos, and in doing so complete one of sport's greatest victories against all odds. Having qualified in 14th during a rain-soaked Saturday in Sao Paulo, Jenson disregarded his earlier plan to stay safe and went hell for leather, passing through the field including hyper-aggressive debutant Kamui Kobayashi. Confirmation of Button's championship win came when RubenS Barrichello suffered a typre puncture while running in 2nd and the Brazilian eventually came home in 8th. Mark Webber also secured his second race win of the season on Sunday.

Norm's cruise to victory has portside within view now for the SupaLiga title, scoring 144pts in Brazil to ward off the slime threat that my Auto-Dynamo team still posed, which despite adding 148pts had little chance of making a last ditch challenge.

However, there are still issues to be decided in Abu Dhabi.

The final PFF1 Cup place, 3rd in the table, is a straight three-way battle between current incumbent BTTR (Dazdazdazzy) and Topper's Tossers and Team Oily. With just 9pts seperating the trio, this could quite literally go down to the final corner.

The Asia & Americas Cup lead is back in the hands of kleefarr, whose Honda-Williams outfit recorded the weekend's best score of 150pts. Pro-Drive, managed by misterminibus, is clearly the main rival for this competition, but Norm could yet take the 'Triple-Crown' of F1 SupaLiga titles, or Topper could have a dream race in Abu Dhabi by taking 3rd place and the A&A.

Sorry but the title spot has my name on it this year it's time for me to pull out out of the bag (don't tell anyone but an insider told me it's a fixed race) Romain Grosjean is going to win Abu Dhabi with Giancarlo Fisichella finishing 2nd so if I were you I would choose those 2 as your drivers ;)

Just been looking at some of the old GP coverage on the BBC website. Hell those 1980's cars and tracks look dangerous these days!! Heres Patrase buried in the catch fence at the Watkins Glen track in 1980 :-rofl2

Season over congratulations to Norm and indeed everybody I think it has been a very competitive season and suffice to say the Tossers lived up to their name again despite having 4 race scores 150 + a further 12 race scores 100+ and only one score less than 100

Its certainly been an interesting season, and fun playing along in the league.

Its only 5 months till the start of the 2010 league :-rofl2

Next year could be very different with potentially 3 or 4 new teams lining up on the grid.
