Schumi will be wearing a special helmet with all his 90+ wins listed - track and dates.

BMW Sauber will have a special paint job on their cars with thank you Michael on the spoilers.

A sad loss to F1 but I think he's doing the right move for himself and his family.

Thanks Michael for all those wonderful races :-worship :-worship :-worship

It'll be interesting to see how Alonso does next year with McLaren.

Im glad hes going. Should open the championship up a bit next year. :-rofl2

He wouldnt have such an impressive set of statistics if Senna hadnt died so young in '94

I for one am glad to see the last of him. Unfortunately, with all his racing success, I will always remember him for cheating, unfair driving, being cynical, using the fact that the organizers have been kissing his and Ferarris ar*e all those years...shame really, because he could have been great. Even if he only had 5 drivers champs but would have won them in a fair manner, using only the driving skills he obviously has, he would have been regarded great. There is a long lists of true champions who did not have to resort to unsporting behaviour. So - thank God we seen the last of his crooked face, his dangerous on-track manouvers and his boring, plasitc public relation guided intervies.

Team changes ahead of the race. I would recommend you check just before the race to see whether other teams in your group have changed drivers:

Tom34
IN - Heidfeld, Liuzzi
OUT - Rosberg, Villeneuve

Super 25
IN - R. Schumacher
OUT - Coulthard

I think this discussion has, if anything, proved what an asset he is (and will continue to be) to the sport of Formula 1. You might not like him, and God knows I haven't been his biggest fan at times, but F1 wouldn't have been quite the same without him these past 10 years +. Having said that, I agree Ana that if Senna hadn't been lost to us so early, F1 could have been EVEN more popular.

Here's a good question that people have never seemed to be able to agree upon an answer - who has/had the greater natural talent, Schumi or Hakkinen?

Well that's Schumi's last race (maybe) I'll miss him.

He will forever be one of the greatest drivers in F1 - as for cheating - only time will tell.

Senna was great but not better than Schumacher - IMHO.

He is still the best driver let's see what Alonso does next year.

Fantastic last drive - nobody else could have done what he did.

As for the fantasy league - that's what it was - to change drivers, tyres and other logistics throughout the season made it a farce.

Next year they should make it your choice for the season and stick with it.

Here's to 2007....

Have to add - had his engine not gone in the last race he would be world champion - that's now history

Official Race Result -
http://www.formula1.com/race/result/769/8.html

On a day of so many endings, Felipe Massa ended the long wait of the Brazilian public by taking victory in Interlagos – the first Brazilian to do so since (the late great) Ayrton Senna in 1993. He lead from beginning to end, and surely now must feel he will have as much of a shout for the title next season as his future team mate, Kimi Raikkonen, who came in 5th.

But of course, the story of the day will be that of Michael Schumacher, racing in F1 for the last time ever. His day got off to a bad start when his left rear tyre punctured due to debris left from the collision of brother Ralf and Mark Webber, thus requiring a pit stop and a drop to the back.

However, this did little to unsettle him, and he fought his way up the field, and by the closing stages was making a fight to get in the top 5. In the straight, Schumi put Fisichella under pressure, and the Italian buckled, going off on the grass in the first corner.

Soon after, in the same straight he attempted an overtaking manoeuvre fitting of his legendary status, capitalising on Raikkonen’s miscalculation going into the first corner, and Schumi went wheel-to-wheel to defend his position on the inside, and completed the move quite efficiently for 4th. Although he could not gain a podium position, one hopes that he will reflect upon his final race as an example of his driven ambition to succeed.

Fernando Alonso came in 2nd, and becomes the youngest driver to successful defend the World Championship. His was a tactical advance up the pack, and his conservative style assured safe passage to the end. Jenson Button picked up a magnificent 3rd place after a less than pleasing 14th in qualifying. He battled hard to get there, the most notable moment being the passing of Raikkonen into turn one as the Finn was off guard.

Although he was involved in much of the action, Kimi Raikkonen looked very much out-of-sorts for much of the race, ending in 5th. Fisichella followed in 6th, Barrichello in 7th, whilst de la Rosa secured the final point in 8th.

2. pipjack (johnappleby) – 445pts
3. bronking buckos (Sir Bronking) – 390pts
4. IG Racing (T_G) – 389pts
5. F1 Aberdeen (Norm) – 373pts
6. Tom34 (Topper) – 370pts
7. Honda/Williams (kleefarr) – 364pts
8. Team Oily (Oily) – 352pts
9. Super25 (salty25) – 350pts
10. Burnin’ Rubber (rolfw) – 340pts
11. Jose`s Marinos (john_graydon) – 337pts
12. Team Carros (Ananloguesat) – 323pts
13. Draconigen (MattJ) – 321pts

14. Wolfs bangers (wolfav) – 317pts
15. The Smeg ups (Lancelot) – 298pts
16. hypotheticals – 282pts

17. GameboyUK (gameboy) – 274pts
18. Bussola's dream team (Bussola) – 252pts

And so the awards are as follows:

1st - Speedy Devils
The season got off to a tremendous start for the Devils, winning the season opening ‘Warm Up’ Championship. They began the season proper in 3rd after Australia, but they quickly regained supremacy after the very next race in San Marino, and following the German GP were leading by 37 points.

However, their season took a dip in the races following this, and after the race in Italy the gap between them and the chasing ‘pipjack’ was just 7pts. Going into the final three races, their lead was cut even further in China, only 5pts was the difference, but they weathered the storm and subsequent good performances in Japan and Brazil assured the Devils of the title which had looked their destiny for almost the entire season.

2nd - pipjack
Despite a nondescript performance in the ‘Warm Up’ Championship, they were 2nd from the first race in Australia, 2 point ahead of eventual champions, ‘Speedy Devils’.

Although they would fall to 3rd after San Marino, they quickly climbed back up to 2nd following the visit to Nurburgring for the European GP. They would not fall from the silver position for the remainder of the season.

It would not be until the closing stage of the season that they mounted a serious challenge to the Devil, closing the lead to just 5pts after China, but they couldn’t overhaul the long-time leaders. Nonetheless, they ended the season in 2nd, with a comfortable 55 point advantage over 3rd place 'bronking buckos'.

3rd - bronking buckos
They had a quiet start to the season, and only came to wider attention after the Spanish GP, when they sensationally jumped up to 4th. Unfortunately for them, this proved a false dawn, as they slumped in subsequent races, their lowest placing was following the Unites States GP - 12th.

However, they regrouped and began a steady ascent up the league, and the breakthrough came at the Italian GP, where they rose fives places up to 4th. In the next race in China they found themselves in 3rd for the first time, but after Japan they were joined there by ‘IG Racing’, and so the fight went down to the wire in Brazil. But it was the buckos that would succeed, capturing 3rd after a long season.

Remember, Sir Bronk is on holiday, but when his back there's the Practice LOG awards, and SupaCOPA to be awarded as well!!!

I will shortly be sending a PM to all the awardees with links to the images so they can put them on their signatures (if they so wish).
