However this all changed when I met my late wife. Lunch became sandwiches and we had a cooked meal of an evening, which was dinner. Incidentally, the French like to have their main meal at 'lunchtime' and just a snack of an evening...maybe this explains shops being close for two hours in the middle of the day..

Same in Russia. It's the healthier way to fill yourself up in the middle of the day when you still have a chance to burn it all off and not in the evening when you just go to bed to store your recently consumed meal in form of fat.

Still available... even a "healthy" option is available, though they don't print any nutritional values on the tins!

I always do the Sunday lunch, my wife works the weekend, chicken for us today, and a nice homemade curry with the left overs for tomorrow.

Our Roast is always in the evening, but SWMBO is doing me a Mature Cheddar & Onion Pie for lunch. The smell is already making me drool.

Onion..... Not a huge fan. Live the curries though! Shame SWMBO doesn't like anything too spicy...

That sounds nice G :), I might give that a go :), we have ours late due to the wife's work, and me liking a few beers after picking her up before we eat;), my wife does not drink,

But I might be able to take her with me this lunch she's a blade and wants to watch the match, no bt sport in my house:(, I guess they will be plenty of feeds but it will be messing with my 2 hour drinking time, my local has the match on.

They look ok, those Puds Martin: I do little ones like that when we have Brisket and also make big ones as a standalone lunch (With Garlic and Onion Poop).
