If the dish won't go past 52e with usals how do we even know if it's getting to 52e in the first place and not stopping slightly short? I admit I've never used these new fangled diseqc motors before, so can't be sure, but I'd want the usals to at least go to 54 or 55 just so I could know for definite that it's actually capable of getting to 52e.
Well, if Turksat on 42E comes in strongly (as it should) then one would work one's way gradually further East - Azerspace on 46E is the next one that should come in fairly strongly as then should Berlinsat on 51E (apart from the promo channels, most others are now encrypted). If 51E does appear, then 52E is only fractionally further to the East. So, to check if the dish does move further East, then one should get someone to watch the dish as you try to drive it from 51E to 52E to see if it does move very slightly.

If it goes no further after getting to 52e then I'd be inclined to ignore that position when setting up the arc. Otherwise you could end up moving the motor to the east and compromising the rest of the arc.

With regards to beamwidth, even on a zone 2 I can peak 51.5e or 52e, one is always compromised. Maybe I'm just used to squeezing the most out of diddy zone 2s :p

I get nothing after 52e with usals, even with tweaking the dish. When I get time I will change to diseqc because it allows for perfect positioning.

Most receivers allow you to mix and match, so you can have usals for the strong sats and diseqc 1.2 for any that need finer adjustment :)

With SX88/88+ and the 1.2 Gibby on the ALSAT motor under USALS, I can certainly drive the dish beyond 52E because I just tried the following:
- Selected Turkmenistan Sport on 12303/V/27000 on 52E , and got that showing on-screen
- Went into the Menus to Antenna Installation, and the SS/SQ levels for that transponder showed around 75% SS & 45-60% SQ (lower than expected because, I think, there's a heavy rainstorm to the East)
- Opened the position edit field for 52E and moved the position about 0.5E deg at a time until I got to around 54E, whilst checking the SS/SQ levels on that transponder at each step - the levels held up until between 53E to 53.5E, dropped to Zero when the motor was sent to 54E, and then came back up again as I stepped back again towards 52E.
(and then I lost "everything" from about 33E - due, I think, or at least hope, to that rainstorm to the East of us in London!:-doh - and now I think it must have been that storm because the levels are gradually coming back up again, although Turkmenistan Sport is still breaking up badly)

PS: Anyone can try a similar test to see if the motor can go beyond 52E (or wherever).

I would use Dishpointer to check the line of sight before moving anything. I can get 52°east 12302 V 27500 Türkmenistan Sport. Snr: 91%. Agc: 73% on a 90cm Fibo with no obstructions.
all clear till 53e

Lack of a signal on 21.6E is not very surprising on a 75cm dish because the signal levels are fairly low in the UK, more so the further North you are.

Not missing really anything on 34.5W - the few channels are strong, but all are encrypted.

Bit confusing tried to search forum but still confused
1- Do blind scan needs any tp on sat Or just work on position of sat
2- if I blind scan at 53 or 52 east Most Channels are the same
At 53 few more channels appears
3- what is the best way to scan all the sats and sort channels
Thank you for kind help it’s been great pleasure on this forum

When satellites are that close together, like 9E, and 10E, you can have bleed over, especially with a larger dish, so a manual scan is best, or do a blind scan and delete the channels that shouldn't be showing up on that satellite, using your receivers edit menu, or an external editor, if your receiver connects to your PC, either networked, or using a specialized channel editor and uploading via USB.

Check sites like lyngsat, or kingofsat, as well as others, for various satellite transponder details.

Is it guide only or can I download it to usb and then copy to sx88+
will it work then without scanning all the satellites

It is a channel list to upload via usb. Will work without scanning, though some channels may have changed in the mean time, 5w in particular.

Ref No 2: that is big "problem" with 52E & 53E - you just have to look at the sat lists as @Mickha suggested, and then manually delete the channel on one or the other as appropriate. OTOH & IIRC, the two sats use different Ku band transponder frequency ranges, - so it may just be a case of selecting the first sat and deleting those transponders that are on the other one, and then vice-versa.

Ref No 3: you can set the SX88+ to automatically scan a series of satellites by "ticking" those sats in the Antenna setup list, and then set it to Scan mode, and it should then scan all those sats, one at a time - after which you will have a very large list of channels to then edit!

However, you can reduce the number of channels found by setting the scan options to, say, TV (and thus exclude Radio) and FTA (and thus exclude the encrypted ones - but the latter doesn't always work "to plan" as some channels show up as encrypted when they are actually FTA for a lot of the time, which is true on 4.8E for example IIRC!).

Sorting the channel lists on each sat is more difficult (not even sure it is possible on the Rx itself ,??) but you can create a Favourites list (but, IIRC, that is not by sat, just a complete list).

How to get multi stream and what’s in it channel wise
