Lanab, your PM is full up.

GZ, just set up the meter app on the Vu+ and stream it to your laptop or mobile phone.

HI Guys

Just out of interest anyone using the T90 to get West stats - 0.8 to 30W?

Whats possibe in UK and whats not? I think there is about 12 sats - 0.8,5,8,11,12.5,15,18,22,24.5,27.5,30W. I am unsure about 4 and 7

anyone confirm the numbers

You could set up another T90 on wall which would mean you would cover the whole arc :-righton hope your wife agrees

thats what I was debating, but speaking to S - there not much on the wests and looks like a 80cm will cover 12.5, 30 and maybe two others 24/27.5!

I did eye up a 1M dish on cheap 2nd hand but I guess not the best condition and if a 80cm does the job wih a 4 lnb holder then i might go for that as it will be cheaper.

that will give me a full spread from 45e to 30w

Just to clarify, you are putting LNB's for 0.8°W and 5°W on the existing T90 or has that plan changed?

Yes original dish stays as it is since 0.8 and 5w are working fine.

unless I get rid of them and then move the middle in order to achieve 52.5e

Plan was to put up the other dish to load up 12.5w and 30W (that will be other side of house as looking directly south its clear so I would be able to get a good west contact.

this will then full up my 20lnbs (give or take 2).

getting another t90 might be overkill and too much more of a headache

infact not sure if 52.5 and 53e are ok for uk

Obviously, you couldn't go for 52.5 & 53°E on separate LNB's. I have 53°E on my motorised setup. There's a couple of Russian music channels on there but precious little else of interest. You may have problems getting a decent signal as it's at the very extreme edge of your T90. If you want to try something more reasonable, how about 45°E? A couple of pop channels and Prima TV which sometimes carries English soundtrack programming.

Thanks S

Thats what I will be doing on my current dish (45e). The dish is currently at 42E to 5W with 36 and 10 still to do.

I can get 45e on, but lnb will be on the extension end of east bar.

On the opposite side bar I get 5w as you know.

12.5W is proving to be quite a distance on the extension bar, so thought if I get that other dish, I can push 12.5 to 30W on another dish and whatever extra is a bonus. Thats where the 80cm/100cm came into it.

I can then take 2/3 lnbs into a 4/1 switch or feed them into the 10/1

Currently I have 42,39,28,23.5,19,16,13,9,7,4.8,0.8,5w. With 10,36 and 45 to be put on. I have will have space on the 10/1's to stick another 3/4 lnbs.

I was debating another T90 but that could be a crazy thing to do. The 80cms sounds like a better idea for 12.5w -30W.

Weather is freezing at the moment and hope to get the wiring started and tunning the current dish this weekend and next 2 weeks of the holidays.

Hi S

this is a photo of my deck and its south facing the middle lantern is about south spot on give of take a couple of degrees
the 2nd photo is looking SWish from the deck. I had planned to put the sat dish on the back beams, which are a few inches thick.

The plan is this position the other sat for 12.5w to 30w on there (behind the fence)

is the sight for signals ok?

The back beams of where exactly?

I can't see any line of sight problems, though obviously mounting a dish on a wood post (if that's what you meant) isn't going to be as stable (or as true) as a brick wall.

There is 3 beams on the other side of the fence 1 in each corner and 1 in the middle.

Yes the concern is that if the bracket I use will be strong enough! The area is very sheltered, so not too much of a wind issue, but a case of if the 80/90 cms dish will stay on the beam.

Well, I'd have to say that's a no-no for a couple of reasons; (a) if you're going to mount a sizeable dish on a wooden beam it will be subject to an amount of wind loading, which may eventually pull out the screws or at least slacken them and alter your alignment. (b) If you're intent on going on the other side of that fence, that bush to the right of due south may well block a line of sight, especially for 30°W. Further back from the fence and to the left might be ok, though I guess a dish on tripod screwed into the decking might be a step too far for your other half. (I have no neighbours to object and being widowed, can pretty well please myself what I put up and where.)

I'd have a rethink about the Westerly dish, in fact I'd leave it till you have all the others up and running.

Your are right, the wood beam might not be the best. I guess the project can wait and go on the other side of the buiilding.

Weather is a bit better today - might go up for a hour to tune, but i am going to replace all the allen key screw thingy's with M6 20mm bolts, make it much easier to work with when changing and siding the holders. The amount of times i dropped that allen key did my head in.

pics later

Apart from enough rain to water my garden for two years and a nice washed clean sat dish, there is nothing to report. The weather has be anti sat work for 2 weeks now and I even got everything ready for my TV aerial and thats been lying in my office (the wife is not happy).

As promised reports and pics will follow as soon as we get a few days of sun/dry weather.

At last some progress - I have managed to stick up a tv aerial (another project) and then four wire via a emp 4/1 disepc. Tunning it in now and its not working it just pulls in 28e and not the 26,19.2 and 13 which I am testing on a smaller 4/1 at the moment.

I think all the little choices you make via the advance page dont work out

trying everything i can but nothing but 28e only coming through

right the scan finished and it scanned over 1400 channels but all were 28e

It seems that the the 28e channels went into 26, 19 and 13 slots

and all the 28e channels came up as normal on the 28 channel lists.

Anyone know how to scan multisat channels with a emp 4/1 switch
