While messing around in the garden with my project, I was surprised to see daffodils starting grow.

Well I always thought it was a pack of hounds that went chasing after the fox, at my son's house in Mitcham, Surrey where I have been for a few weeks labouring apart from a 6 day trip home, there are so many foxes they chase the dogs down the road, I walked back from the tube the other evening and encountered 7 different foxes ones all bold as brass staring at me like I was doing something wrong by being there. Lousy pictures but all I could get on my elderly camera without flash

And yet we live in a rural area with many domestic chickens roaming free and no reports of any Foxes for several years now. Clearly they prefer Waitrose leftovers.

Went to the toilet at 2am last night and noticed some northern lights. If I ever get up in the night I always check the window to see if there's any activity - just in case. Couldn't be bothered to get dressed though as I'd just done a 10 hour drive so took this through the window.

What a terrific pic. The scene looks positively Gaudi-esque.

When I get up in the night needing the toilet I usually end up seeing stars after bashing into the doorframe in the pitch dark!

I don't get many birds at this time of year.Just the odd blackbird, wren, robin and the occasional spuggy. When I start putting the ground up nuts out I get not a flock of startlings like martin.I get an avalanche of them. I do not know where they come from. They just fall out of the sky. They always seem to know when the nuts are out.I have had some trouble getting pics of them as soon as I open the conservatory door they are off. These pics are taken through the double glazing. The bird table at around 18 times zoom. The ones in the trees are waiting for the second sitting.:)

Yep. Knowing when the nuts are out is an essential skill.
