Typical example of frost weathering.

Went to visit the grandchildren in stavanger some weeks ago, whilst walking along the beach zone stumbled on this 2meter high frost weathered boulder to the south of the hå old vicarage.

Yes Martin,time is my problem....Everones really! Yesterday i spent the best part of the day field testing radios on a local hill. Even my photography takes a back seat at times. And i havent even mentioned my tropical fish hobby! I still watch my satellite set up nightly,i have an RSS feed from Lyngsat which gives me the latest channels deleted and new. This comes through on my firefox browser. But at the moment i just dont get time to sit scanning for channels. It doesnt help that the sat setup is in my bedroom and all this radio gear is with me here in the spare room(more like a shack). I should get more time as my stock of cb's dwindle though. Another three should be on ebay soon.

I had today off for the 1st visit to the dentist for a crown impression, so this afternoon i treated myself to a bit of birding in the setting sun to cheer myself up-I hope these do the same for you.

Saw this sitting on a Xmas type tree behind my largest barn. At first I thought it was a pigeon or dove but in the other (enlarged) image it looks more like a kestrel of hawk....any ideas?

Hard to tell Pete, but defiantly a bird of prey, and like you say maybe a kestrel.

A couple of doves catching a bit of sun on this nice cold morning.

I have a fair few visit everyday Paul, I feed them crushed peanuts on the lawn, the magpies also love them and carry some away/bury them in the border,

One of the doves is quite clever, if I am late feeding them it will hop down the fence and look at me through the window as if to say come on where's my dinner.
