Chiefly SWMBO's efforts, to be fair: I act as spotter and stored image manipulator.

Tbh thinking about it I am concerned, I was getting over run with mice where I feed the birds at the top of the garden, so I ended up putting some poison down, I can only presume the owl has hunted in my garden before and come back for more,

I just hope he does/hasn't caught a mouse that's eaten any, I will remove the poison tomorrow and hope the owl will be ok and come back and naturally remove the mice.

Be nice if it is.I was a bit worried that it was just the back of a blue tit that I had not seen before.Though looking at it it looks bigger than a blue tit.

It's not many months since the Legal obligation to report Vermin of that sort seen in private gardens was rescinded.

Fortunately, I gather the Reds are fighting back.

Great photo, unlike this poor quality video, but I did take it for the song and indeed identification because I am clueless when it comes to feathered birds...... This was across the street and was so loud it had the neighbours out as well..............

Here's a rare treat.

We went out today for our Annual Bluebell Walk in a little known Valley way out in the more isolated parts of the Moors and no sooner had we started than we saw this gorgeous reptile sitting stock still right in the middle of the track.

For the unititiated, it's a Slow Worm. Although for some reason SWMBO didn't take a wider shot, he (or she) was a decent sized adult probably 35cm long.

For the initiated, it's still a Slow Worm.

When I was young, my brother ( before he died ) and I loved hunting slow worms and tiny black lizards. Filled the garden full of them. Happy days!
