And related to the above post, does anyone know if there are any Ka footprints which cover Ireland (east coast) apart from the RTE channels on 9 East?
I would be interested in getting the dual LNB, but it would be pointless if there are no broadcasters except RTE which have a Ka footprint here. I get RTE on terrestrial.
Looking at the footprint map of the 16E Ka band ...
this does appear to fall short of Ireland sadly ..
I know I have problems in Manchester ...and suspect these problems would worsten in Western and Northern Scotland...parts of Wales and of Course Ireland ..
My guess ..not impossible but a very large dish would be needed.
You may well be ok with 7E though ..as this is quite strong and doable on a 1Mtr dish over most of the UK I think..
To this end ...
Now that we have quite a few group members with the new Inverto Ka/Ku lnb ...
perhaps it's time to start a reception report list ..fot these 2 ka sat positions..
Reports welcomed in this thread..
7E and 16E channel reception reports plus dish size used and of course location ..

VS
I'll start ..
around 70% of the ka channels broadcast at 16E are lockable on a 1.5 mtr dish (variation subject to time of day and weather.
All Ka channels broadcast at 7E are do-able on a 1mtr dish ...but I would suggest a 1.2mtr minimum for all weather reception.
Saorsat at 9E is not possible regardless of dish size I suspect..
Receivers used include F15 ,SX6, and TBS card
