On the KaKu Port, you need to switch with a Diseqc signal - B (or AB, depending on your receiver) for Ka.
Ku is the default.

OK, had another Inverto and managed to squeeze it on the changer using a cable conduit saddle clamp, great results on 16E using the Amiko A3 which to me is able to display these awkward channels with ease, a lot of people knock this receiver but I find it great, it only missed a couple of low sr channels on blind scan on Ka.
Burkina TV on 21.564 and Impact TV on 21.562 come in with ease...P1010001.JPG P1010002.JPG P1010003.JPG

inverto Kaku band has two input:
1- (ku+ka) switchable , default is ku-band
2- Ka-band input
A) i connected wire to first port (ku+ka band switchable)
by default Ku-band is default
i tried crazyscan + DVBDream + SmartDVB+AltDBV = all working
B )second i tried to switch to Kaband using port1
Crazyscan works after setting Diseq 1.0
img

** then tried to config Diseq in DVBDream and SmartDVB and AltDVB but i failed
C)i connected wire direct to port Kaband
i tried crazyscan + DVBDream + SmaerDVB = works
but AltDVB not works
img

img

Questions are:
1- in the case (B ) , how to config Diseq in case i connect to port 1 (ka+ku) for
DVBDream and SmartDVB and AltDVB
2- in case (C) how can config AltDVB to make it work ?

If I may ask.
Is this a combined Ku/Ka LNB. If so will it receive all frequencies still of Ku? Also what of Ka?
Easy to set up I guess?
Would the 1.2CM be OK for Ka?

New to this. I remember reading on one of these threads that it was very unlikely a combined Ku/Ka LNB would ever exist!
Thanks for advice in advance!

The Inverto KaKu will do all of Ku and band D of Ka. In my experience, the Ku side is not very sensitive, compared to my IBU 0.2dB Ku LNB. I've sealed off the Ku port as it's not much use to me.

A 1.2m will be fine for Ka signals from 7°E, 5°E and some of 16°E. I've tested an unbranded 80cm on 7°E and can get all channels listed on Lyngsat and even the regular feeds.

Some of the Ka signals are weak on 16°E... Even on my 1.2m I struggle to get a clean lock on Al Nassr TV @ 21534 H.

... Iv'e just had another one of these from Satshop24.de (excellent service btw) as my first one has got into a habit of falling out with my TM 5402 Mk3 and throwing up a "lnbf" fault indication on the front display .... unplug the cable and plug in again and all was fine, just a pain to have to delve around the back of the box to do the deed.
Anyway .... have done a bit of lnb comparison over the last few days between my XMW band D dro lnb and my original Inverto Ka/Ku and have to say the Inverto gives very good results for the price on Ka. It will see up to 16 Tp's from 16 East where as the XMW would only find around 8 Tp's.

Looking at the box the new one came in, i can't remember seeing these bits of info on the first one i had when the lnb first became available ??.

Hi John,

all that info was there when first boxes were delivered in October 2015, so there`s really nothing to be excited about. My picture was taken on 19 October if the camera was set properly (it usually is).

Thanks for that, i think what set me off was how the Inverto collected nearly twice as many transponders as my XMW Ka lnb and the fact that i just could not recall seeing that info on the box when i bought my first Inverto unit all those months ago lol.

The lnb is reasonable for the signal.

Ka signal differs from the ku band signal. And for example just say you have 90% signal ku isn't a guarantee of ka.

Dish size is everything, on my 1.5 Gibertini I can regularly pick up 7°E (can also on a 1m) 5°E has feeds.

16°E for me on the 1.5 is dx'ing a bit, that due to the ka footprint and the weather.

Just agreeing & adding a bit more to Chris's input .....
Personally i found my Inverto Ka/Ku lnb to perform slightly better than my dedicated XMW 21.2-22.2GHz lnb that cost over three times as much and didn't have the added bonus of Ku...... it might just have been a better scalar - dish match on the Inverto ?.
Ka can be a lot trickier to get right, with a more precise set-up required etc to get the utmost performance out of it. Setting the Inverto lnb at the focal point of the dish , (especially if using a small dish ...around 1mtr) , is a must.... and also a decent quality dish with good surface accuracy is also a bonus to collect the Ka signal.
I get good results on 16°-7° & 5°East sats on my 1.2 Gibertini Ka setup but use my CM 1.8 for better results on 16°E, which as Chris says, is the trickier one to get the weaker signals & the most transponder download count.
Good luck with it if you decide to have a go, there's quite a few of us on the forum that will give you a dig out if you need any help ;)
Also ..... for Ka, it's helpful to have a receiver with a good sensitivity and also one that lets you input the correct lnb LO freq and has the ability to blind scan on Ka correctly .... a LOT of receivers fall down at this hurdle.

Ok I've quite a few receivers as you see which I guess would be ok like the amiko but so realistically I can't expect much or anything with my 1m then ? What about the itn feeds on 24.5 west ? Ditto situation ?

If lnb at focus, installed accurately, skew etc and assuming your dish is not warped, you will receive some of the stronger transponders on your 1mtr from 16 / 7/ 5° East ...... unfortunately they are not all the same strength (up here in North Notts anyway)
I'll take a screen grab of the three different sat positions for Ka signal levels from the 1.2 Gibby / Inverto Ka-Ku combo to illustrate my point.
ITN Ka feeds on 24°West ..... thats a new one on me, they are usually on 19.2°East on band-A 18.2 to 19.2GHz usually between 18500V to 18650 V area.
