Really hoped for some help on this (Post 50). It's all easy fixing new LNBs and setting things up if you know how! Will think twice before asking again ... :(

A simple Diseqc switch will be the answer. Feed Ka to 1 input and Ku to 2, then set the receiver accordingly.

That's basically the problem at this point buddy ..
No one can really advise until we have our hands on one of these as they are new ..and don't exactly switch in the conventional way ..
no doubt we will work it out once we have it to play with ..
So in truth we only have other users experiences to go on at this stage..
No one is ignoring you mate ..
we simply don't know ourselves at this stage ..and can only make best guestimates.

You can place your order here Chris.
Code:

Sorry to be slow here. The Website for ordering details is ...? / E Mail address etc.
If you take off your existing LNB and replace with this KU/KA. LNB... Will it work quite normally with a Technomate 5403 HD receiver.. Then how to switch to KA?
Sorry about questions am fairly new to this!

Hi Laser, the website for ordering is in my quote above, yes it would work with your TM, you have two options you fix it on as and when you want to look at KA band/modify your dish/arms to accept more than one lnb,

Now there is not many channels to view and to view all of the KA band you need 4 ? different lnb your not missing out on much:), if your goal is to get more channels you would be better looking more into getting a 1.5 and installing C band, if you need more help on KA band please let us know and we can point you to a few threads for you to read through, i am just about to start exploring C band and really looking forward to it :).

Noticed myself that one of the outputs is Ku/Ka and the other just Ka, according to the picture on Satshop, so unsure how the Ku/Ka output will be switched. Possibly Diseqc? And the other port not, be interesting to see.

Could be like the he direct tv lnb, and use a 22khz tone. 0=ku & 22khz=ka

But I am still guessing as it is hard to find anything about these on the net.

According to Ponny the best is to use the dedicated KA output ,
at 16°E ,the result is nearly the same as a PLL. Lnb.
With the KU/KA lnb output you lose 1db in ka and it's imprtant in kA band.
Also this LNB is 1 to 3 db less good as the Inverto black ultra.(digital fernsehen ).

Let's wait and test it by ourself ;)

Heh guys , cant you read ?
Its already told !
A German tester tells : disecq 1.0 , select A for Ku 10,7-12,75 GHz and B for Ka 21,2-22,2 GHz.

Understood Trust ...
but still curious ..
is there actually an A output and B output on the lnb ...
which are both active at all times ...
Or are the outputs switched internally by a disqc command (AA(1) BB(2) diseqc1.0 to either port ?
Thats what I mean by uncertain at this point..
If it is that both outputs are continuous and active then are they seperately powered and controlled much like a dual but isolated sky lnbf ..then theoretically you could use an external 2 port switch A/B ...or as I hope ..2 seperate receivers ..
each box having full control of 1 lnb ...in a combined package..

One output is only Ka , the other output with Diseqc command 1 (or A) for KU , with Diseqc command 2 (or B ) you have Ka signal

But I'm wondering if the internal electronics is dual or frequency switched (ie switching in a different local osc) ...
If the former and 2 FULL sets of electronics then possibly both Ka and Ku can be output at the same time..
This is where my uncertainty lies..

As suspected. Probably going use a second receiver on this, as I already use a 4 port Diseqc switch on the exisiting setup,

Probably not VS, you are probably going to have to select the LO corresponding to whatever port you are using at the receiver end. Ka will be a dual output type and Ku a single, but one output under Disecqc control at the LNB end. That's my guess...

I suspect you are correct ..
But if they had somehow managed to combine all probes at the focus ..yet route the signals internally to 2 seperate sets of electronics ..then what I was hoping for would have been possible ..
A bit like having just one capture point for all the probes in an SL3 ..and All active at the same time..
Now that would have been seriously useful insofaras ..2 receivers powering 2 intermal lnbs with full control ..and producing simulaneous IF outputs down 2 cables via 2 receivers to 2 Monitors..
Ah ..well ..
I can dream ..
;)

From the look of it's design ..I suspect designed for Offset not PF Solly ..
..which is where I'm hoping to gain a fraction over the XMW with non matched feed.
