Actually, if curtains open than it is still possible to see something on the balcony o_O Another difficulty is - TV is working, so I should be careful to not obstruct signal :D. Managed to attach longer threaded rode. Will remove SUB and feedhorn and install changer-plate tomorrow.

If I had motor in working condition I would already try changer. Till then only one LNB is working.

I like it, very neat. Will copy this for a 1.5 Gib install in the new year Rimants . But for now, do you want me to send Santa a letter for you for a new motor :)

I would love to see the gibertini 1.5 version, as I have one.

And I would like to see how you are going to brace it.

Me to Chris :) .... Iv'e never owned a 1.5 Gib so don't really know how good or strong the existing metalwork is on them. I would like to use one just for various Ka lnb's , so the weight issue wont be as great as i have now. So, i'll have to get one, look at it, and then decide what to do with it. "Where there's a will, there's a way" is my favourite saying

Did Alex ever sell his?
As you know John Boy, Ka worked well on the Gibby 1.2 when I was playing, think the greg 1.2 had the edge though. The back plate on the gibby 1.2 is very substantial so I would say this is a goer.

Yep, remember you saying Chris (scopus) ..... thats reminded me, was up in the loft the other day and came across the Scopus receiver we both bought many many moons ago, still looks and feels a great bit of pro kit ... shame it's not of any use now .... Anyway, i fancy a Ka only bottom motor build on a solid metal 1.5Gib, i think it will be a decent performer with being able to get the selected lnb at focus.

Just having a fault finding session on the ASC1 controller with having a failing display when changing polarity on the servo motor .... tracked it down to something on the servo, might be a bit of water ingress on the servo 3way connector. Tried it on a spare in the shack and the ASC1 is all fine. Another job for tomorrow

1.8 m CM at SMR 1224 + Elev. with 7 lnb changer Ku (lin - circ) - Ka (lin - circ) C (lin - circ)

Today spend some time to finish the lnb changer .
To attach as many lnb's as possible , the big C horns must be placed at the outside positions , but to pass the F-connector of the TechniRotor (150º move) there must be a long pipe between rotor and spiderhead and a shorter beam . That means , the original CM sidearms are to longs so i used the ones i earlyer made .
I send the TechniRotor to "reference" and stored that position for the Ku lnb (BEST twin with Raven feedhorn) so there is always a secure starting point to aligne the dish .
Managed to set the KAKUA and C-circ lnb in the most optimum position , still working at the SL3K , if I can replace it with a smaller Ka lnb for 19.2º E , there wil be room for a C-lin lnb .
Changed the Ku lnb for the laser lnb , marked the spot on the dish and send the dish to far west and east .
The laser spot keeps pointing on the mark , so there was not any deformation from the dish or feedarms .

Yep, it's a great little thing when it's working correctly. Earth bonding between coax's / lnb's / receivers / ground mount must all be correct to eliminate any potential differences otherwise the units software corrupts very easily.
I'm on the look out for a robust separate servo motor controller and use a V-box for main E-W actuator

Not the first time I have heard the ASC1 having counting problems.

Will only trow another idea for LNB-rotator. Red curved line is Flexible Shaft (FS). By using it motor can be placed behind antenna and can be attached to antenna's mount or even to the pole. Blue crossed box- some piece of machinery (I am sure it can be made), and a same round plate (pink) to hold all the LNBs.
