Six channel golf mux in NS3 @7E

Are you getting the video to play smoothly on the FTA channels?

For some reason I seem to get stop/start of the video on this specific mux, it will play for three or four seconds then judder then play again.
The same artefact is not present on other NS3 frequencies so I think there is something going on here that my equipment is not optimised for?
I have tested it in VLC from the ASI capture card via TransEdit and also routed it through an Ericsson RX8200, same artefact both times.

It might be the LNB, I am using a DRO LNB rather than a PLL LNB and sometimes these higher FEC's seem more stable with PLL.
Could you please tell me what LNB you are using to capture the signal?

Thank you for the quick reply.
Your IBU is a DRO LNB and I am using an Inverto C120 quad LNB, also DRO. It would suggest that the LNB does not seem to be the contributing factor to the video issue I am getting?

Looking at the Line Monitor in the NovelSat unit I can see it dropping the lock even though I have over 5dB link margin.
Also, my SR and Frequency offests are tight and within acceptable tolerances.

Would you be able to share your line configuration settings, not the line monitor settings?
I am wondering if I have something incorrectly set in the line configuration?

Lastly, I am using a TBS ASI capture card to analyse the stream in a PC. I see you have output it to TS Reader, which card did you use for this please?

Thx

Thank you for sharing the screen shot of your line configuration and well spotted re the data rate, I had not noticed it.

It was the data rate that was the issue, it was too low and probably caused by my having Fast Sync Mode and Auto CCM Mode enabled.
I disabled these Mode options and saved the updated config. The data rate jumped up to the same value or thereabouts that you are getting.

The video is now playing smoothly.
I have attached a couple of the current line screen shots below of the setting that is yielding smooth video.

Thank you for your help.

Can anyone verify 11465 V on 7E. Crazyscan does not recognise it as DVBS2 so it is a chance that it's NS3 NS4 or DVB S2X. I tried multiple known symbol rates but I could not get it to sync.

Have you tried scanning it with an S2X capable receiver, if it is S2X it should at least lock the frequency even if it cant read the stream.
Also, some NS2000 demodulators are S2X capable, possibly dependent on the factory build.

The other option you could try is to use the bandwidth to get an approximate idea of the SR then step the SR up and down around an SR known to work on comparable bandwidth.
It might eventually get a sync and lock.

My NS2000 does not have the s2x licence and I don't currently have an s2x pci card or any receiver to try to lock it

Tried this already but could not get a sync with either ns3 or ns4. @EnoSat tried now with ns3 and ns4 but could not get a sync. Don't know the correct symbol rate though so it's a long shot. Maybe @tom55 can help us with the symbol rates

Tried 13E with 34288 and it's not ns3 or ns4 so I assume it's s2x.

Already tried that SR on 13E and it's not ns3/ns4, maybe dvbs2x
On 7E I get an sync with 20000 SR on dvbs2 so no ns3/ns4. Thank you

Looks like an EBU/Eurovision FTA rolling advertisment of services?

why they first invest into proprietary expensive Novelsat stuff and now make s2x tests?

Will be their regular S2X test I think?

I don't think it is an S2X test, it locked and synced in an NS2000 demodulator using NS3 mode. If it was S2X it would not lock and sync using NS3 mode.
Also, I scanned the range using an Octagon SF8008 receiver which is S2X capable, it failed to lock the signal.

There might be a parallel S2X EBU test active on another frequency though?

Aye I have no evidence otherwise! I just saw the Eurovision demo loop and the date matched up, you may be right and they run both.

Have you tried a DVB-S2 card without X extension, for example TBS5925
That's why I asked about Novelsat with a purchased S2X license
Each TBS card behaves differently, also the Transponder Bitrate at 8PSK 23500 3/4 should be around 53 Mbps, not 5 Mbps

This DVB-S2 8PSK CCM with reserved stream type (not used in DVB-S2). STV0900, STV0910 can't stream it.
In DVB-S2X standard this stream type now named as encapsulated and used for GSE High Efficiency Mode (GSE-HEM)

I can receive network traffic from this transponder with TBS6903x and linux
GitHub - tbsdtv/linux_media at gse - V4L DVB driver with GSE decapsulation support for STiD135
GitHub - tbsdtv/dvb-apps - midified dvbnet util with GSE support

Wireshark show some multicast traffic
