Just an update. Stable and solid levels all over for a long time. Happy that it seems bigger dish not needed after all. One thing is $$$, the other is some crazy winds that happens a few times in the valley here, could be dangerous \ scary with any larger surface than the current 130\140.

Things working way better than expected, not touched the setup since last post, very stable. Also the 1st real test of the 60 mm pole + the large dish, was well cemented after making a deep hole into solid rock, + successful placement vs trees and hill tops (am deep in a valley).

11053 H & 11023 H are sometimes struggling, dips under the needed 7,7 dB. In practice affects only BBC News, as everything else is available from other freq. Could maybe improve by some mm dish nudging ...which comes with risk of deterorating other transponders, so won't change anything as all other UK's staying well within lock range. The hasty 19.2 addon doing fine too, 11 to 13 dB.

11023 H and especially 11053 H are
the tricky ones here too.
ITV has just emptied 11097 V on 2G and has moved the channels to 11344 H.
Next to be emptied seems to be 11068 V. Channels are transmitted on 11386 V too at the moment.

Recently the channels on 11386 H started transmissions on other transponders too so possibly 11386 H will be the new home of the channels currently on 11053 H. Remains to be seen...

11306 V/H, 11344 V/H, 11386 V/H and 11426 V/H are frequencies leased by Eutelsat. Maybe they are cheaper to rent which could explain ITV:s move from 2G to 11344 H and 11386 V (and maybe 11386 H).

Thank you! I ll lookup this site. Mainly it s the ads every 20 minutes that i can t get used to. Sometimes a good film & boom 1st ads shower/ 20 minutes later 2nd shower with SAME bloody ads... how can you watch a film like that? Ok for a cartoon or news.... but the rest!!
Big :p:p:-clap for the tv website.
I m using What's on TV tonight? which usefully provides listings of what s on astra 19 AND 28 incl. non-English speaking ones!

Looks better here (F), a few dB more than the weakest 28 freq.

Mostly just accepting, it's all free so happy for whatever I get!

Something I really want to see with minimal distraction, am starting timeshift and go doing (or watching) something else until got a good buffer (like 15-20 minutes), then skip ads using the quick forward buttons (the 5 minutes button is a good start).

Or record the thing and watch later using quick forward buttons.

just like what we used to do when there were only 3 channels (with ads) and 1 encrypted...
little stuff to watch,so recording on VCRs was the thing!
itv reminds me of those long gone days, looonnnggg ad breaks, little to watch between them.
There seems however to be more money and care put in the ads...
here it s the same old "new" car rambling around barcelona ,las vegas, new york & the same ugly food with a fast running subtitle saying "move up,do sport, dont eat trash" when the ad is about...trash food!!

You will get maximum level of reception at the end of November. Then it will be dropping slowly until June/July where you get lowest. This is how it works.

But nice to hear that you didn't upgrade your dish.

Zero problems, all UK's 9 to 13 dB > weather-time of day-E-F-G variations.
