... This low level signal that is squeezed in between the usual Newsnet freq and the usual comms freq has been seen a few times but i'm not sure if anybody has been able to accurately identify it's purpose. Is it perhaps another comms channel squeezed in ?. I can't get any lock on it due to it's low level.
** Also a few President Trump visit feeds up also on 18GHz

Normally ITV News Satellites with SIS live do not use any form of scrambling, did you view it in the clear? as I do not think the ITV centres have any form of descrambling kit. not sure with ITN, John's carrier which is very low , the one above data comms carrier, this could be an ITN news feed to ITN London, as I think they can downlink on their 5.6 metre dish (Down Link K band Andrews dish would work upto this frequencybased on the old Ku kit)

I do not think that the ITV regions use any form of scrambling, BISS is only a token type anyway. as they have no form of descrambling kit in the regions, as far as I know, not sure about ITN though

Think your carrier just above the Comms to trucks, is for ITN they I think may use their 5.6 metre Andrew dish to downlink at "K" band, the carrier can be much lower then as the dish gain is much greater, or it may be downlinked at Media City SIS Live's Dish Farm.

Youv'e set my curiousity alarm off again Tony re: the low level ITN sig, when it stops raining here up in north Notts i'll insert one of my spare little Hughes 18GHz lnb's into the throat of my AV-Comm poloriser barrel thats at focus on my 2.2 Elite PF dish and see if i can get a useful sig strength to do a bit more digging.

Not sure what your reading in level, John, but you will need about in 9.5 Bd in level, where their 2.4 's metre dish's at ITV regions will cope with 8 Db

Ok, thanks Tony. Just a quick lash up on the 2.2 Elite bunging the small Hughe's 18GHz lnb into the C-band throat and without any time spent optomising it has gained me another 2dB on the usually constant comms freq but as you say i'm still a way off required levels. I can see the mystery freq pulsating up and down a bit depending on cloud cover or rain so i will leave it all in place for a few days and monitor it. The picture grab is off the cctv screen so is a bit naff.

Hello,
here are the first results with my new KA band LNB. I have rebuilt the TIAX KA 19,7-20,2 and am very satisfied with the first tests on the 78 cm antenna.

Calibrated Spectrum in KA-Band A with self-modified GILAT LNB .

I also exchanged the quartz in 27 MHz.
