Hi Chris
With problem Hughes Ka(K) 17.250 L.O.lnb. If you disconnect the faulty lnb and then reconnect it, do you see any change in the noise floor? You may see a slight change either using the "Catscan" software display, or any unit which may show lnb level. This will at least say that the in line bulk gain amplifier(s) in the lnb are working, so cable, DC power etc are ok. Leaves only the L.O. or blocked(waterlogged) wave guide/Feedhorn, or slightly off satellite boresite.

Seems a lot. Is that the Hughes scopus?
Yup, the Hughes. This sat finder is a poor mans speccie compared to the Promax. I have a long cable run too, plus a Diseqc switch so that could explain the extra draw.

He's got a fair old length of coax in use llew and also running through a diseqc switch i do believe so the total load of all components might be bumping up the draw a bit. Correct me if i'm wrong Chris.
Correct John

Just after @Llew posted up the photo of the castle, I checked again with my tbs card, and it found 6 transponders:-),

I then put my Dr HD on to try it and nothing :-(

So switched the PC on again and scanned, back to finding nothing:-(

You have noise there Chris, so something's working. Tony's assumption is correct in that something will show in the scan in that case.
What do you have with a disconnected LNB?

I don't see how chucking hardcore into the river there helps. Something to keep the Baron of the castle (in between the blokes in hi-vis) happy I suppose.

Indeed

He should at least have asked the local peasants to leap in and form a human scaffold.

Looks like the dish face has moved, go to sort that first.
The dish sits on a n.p.r.m in the garden, this sits next to the path, but due to a few weeds growing around the base, it took me a while to work out what has happened.

But the base had moved by about 1/4 inch, and the dish face had moved off slightly.

No real problem, only thing is 3.0W is my zenith sat, and so I will have to wait for a feed to pop up before I can align the mount again.

Hi
Chris looks as if you have found your problem, Hughes Ka(K) band lnb not working, good, Dish alignment off by dish base movement, I understand.

Just having a look at Newsnet and the other six uplinks working at the moment between 18. 510Ghz to Newsnet 18.555 Ghz, it a good day today at our downlink site, sorry to say not many of them at this Level and Frequency.

Sadly I don't have the time to set it all back up properly. And when I do get some time the wind and rain, stop play.

Plus my location is 2.6W so the nearest satellite to my zenith is 3.0W. So I will have to wait for a feed to pop up.

I may even try moving the dish to another location, to see if I can get past a pesky tree, at 40.5W (c-band).
