Does this receiver come with oscam pre-installed as part of the default image or is it an aftermarket install? Looking at your skin it appears you have OScam PVu configured?

Also, how does the SNR figure from the Octagaon compare with that from another receiver or the Signal Analyser SNR figure in EBS Pro?

No, OScam has to be installed. As non of my other receivers will show the SNR I'm unable to compare.

I hear you about fibre networks etc. but there will always be areas that will never have such coverage - especially impoverished areas, like Africa. Or North Somerset.

PC, yes. Phones and tablets are coming in strong now. But I would still never dream of browsing web on my TV.

Bizarrely, several years after all but one properties in my village abandoned our "never to be upgraded" copper wire network in favour of Fixed Wireless Access Broadband, we are now scheduled to get FTTP quite soon.

My friend recently moved to middle of nowhere in Devon, where they still don't have CN21 (that's ADSL2). ADSL Max is the er.... max he can get 3MBit/sec. Ouchie.

There is WiFi in the village but he house is behind a hill and no LOS. Patchy 4G coverage.

For the information of all users (not just Octagon users), the C-band and Ka-band blind scan features above (which were written recently by the OpenViX team) are available on all receivers that have blind scan support and in all OE-A images.

Blindscan for Ka is in OPEN ATV 6.2 but for some reason it will not scan in any transponders..
I had to manually add newsnet in a manual scan

SNR reading is now broken, will not show in dB and altering the setting in the GUI interface makes no difference. Also showing %100 for every channel!

Bought one of these receivers. Far far too complicated with non satellite stuff. Very disappointed. Will sell given half a chance.
Why can't someone make a first class satellite receiver without all the extra stuff.??
One that might have a spectrum analiser, do 4.2.2. and just work OK without continous updates!!

I agree Laser, but the demand for what you ask in minimal, so they don't bother. Enigma2 is not the easiest to get your head around.
