OK I have loaded two identical VIX images one in the SF8008 and one in the Edision nino pro and tested out the new blindscan for Ka on 19E, the nino has no problem finding the Newsnet tranponder, but the SF8008 returns nothing. This was also the same result when I had open ATV loaded in the SF8008 last night...

How about if you do a regular enigma scan with the SF8008? Does it find the channels ok?

Can you receive 30 west? How do they compare 11496 H?

Regular scans on the SF8008 are fine.

Both receivers receive the transponder 11496 on 30W but there is break up with the Octagon, this has been reported before, the nino is rock solid!

Anyway thanks for testing. I'm glad to know it is not the plugin that is the problem. I've got an Edision OS Nino Pro here too and the tuner is outstanding.

It's still a similar box to compare, the key thing for most people on here is the Sat Tuner, Blindscan, CPU etc.
And Mutant deliver what they promise, driver support is better.

The SF4008 IS the mistake of Octagon because the name "Octagon" is written on the front of the SF4008. The factory you want to blame Does Not have their name written on the SF4008. It is time to quit blaming others. Own up to your mistake and move on.

We are not talking about Xtrend, GI innovation or others. We are talking about Octagon.

You need the own the mistakes of your receivers.
No matter if it is the SF4008, SF8008, or a future model number. These receivers have the name Octagon on the front of them, so the responsibility of how these receivers work can only be Octagon.

comparing SF4008 to SF8008 without having both box, I see that first box look much solid and with better build quality
apart from blind scan what Is wrong with SF4008 - for Instance does anyone compare tuner sensitivity SF4008, SF8008, Edison primo pro both DVB S2X and DVB T. Is there differences In receiving multistream and T2I channels

TBH, I don't think there was much wrong with the SF4008, people always bemoaning the fact there was no Blindscan, but even if there had been, it would have been next to useless as it is on most E2 boxes. It's only recently that E2 scans have improved, for example the Edision stands out in that regard. It does seem Octagon were let down badly from the their hardware supplier with failed promises. Lets hope the new supplier is better.

Blindscan in the SF8008 is now fixed for KA band. Heuvos has been working with a few of us on here to improve it and few other things even more.
