it's because of FAT32.
With Avidemux you can easily join all parts together in the format you want.

I notice there's a new Multistream box come on the market

VU+ Zero 4K 1x DVB-S2X Multistream Tuner Linux Enigma 2 Receiver UHD 2160p

but as it doesn't mention Dolby Digital I assume we've got the same problem as the SX88 for those of us who want it for French TV.

It's jolly annoying that the SX88 lacks this feature. If anyone hears of a multistream box that gets French TV that an idiot like me could use I'd be grateful. I already have an Octagon 4008 but it drove me mad to set up and now I daren't touch any settings on it due to my lack of geekiness, and when I read advice about it I just feel sick with incomprehension.

I bought the SX88 thinking that the audio was in the radar for a fix, but reading the messages it is doubtful now. I bought a French receiver as well to stop the frustration. Humax 1000FR works 5 west perfect. Joyeux Noel a tous.

but I like the multistream route as one can record without the restrictions that the official systems impose on where you can play the recording back. But I feel for you on the SX88, but for this forum I'd have bought one too and been stuck as a result.

I remember that the recordings that the SX88 makes are with the French audio.
If you record a program and then watch it on a PC or device that can play this audio code, you will have sound.

Tambien el VU+UNO 4K es DVB-S2X, pero trae el tuner del 2016, no el nuevo de la feria de Anga (2017).

a colleague made a blindscan on SES-6 at 40 ° 5 W.
the SX88 finds the frequencies in MIS T2MI, all without knowing the PLS and the code.

There is no PLS and codes in T2-MI, don't get confused! It was very clearly explained before that the STB scans pid 4096 and decapsulates it, simple as that for their firmware.

The PLP is part of the stream and once the pid 4096 is decapsulated they are immediately discovered. T2-MI is not multistrem in that sense, not to be confused with PLS codes.

Please excuse my intervention/ignorance, but "Santa " (AKA, my stepson!) delivered me an SX88 today!!! So, having read through (almost, at least!) all the posts on this thread but not having understood a lot of it, I would be grateful if some of the very knowlegiable contributors here could tell me what the "best"/"most stable" f/w version to update it to would be - because I expect that might not be the case "as delivered"

I am using software version 1.04.18,

This version is very stable & does all I want re Multi-Stream ect so I will stick with this version,

I have other receivers for more specialised tasks such as detailed Blind Scan & Ultra HD.

Many thx - from reading the thread I kind'a got the idea that that version was likely to be a good bet
PS: does anyone know if it is possible to load an earlier version of f/w if the "as delivered " version should turn out to be later than 1.04.18 (not turned it on yet)?

No Problem .
Warning: never make Online-Update, it very often causes problems.

Now got the SX88 up and kinda running - and, whilst looking around the menus, I could not find anything which tells me which f/w version is currently loaded on it. So, how do I find that information?
(the "manual" is "worse than useless" )

Many thanks - didn't realise there is a 2nd page in the Settings menu! Now found that it has version 1.04.15 loaded in it.

BTW: when I went onto the Octagon website, I could only see f/w version 1.04.32 which I can download - so does anyone know from where I can download version 1.04.18?
