Likewise I have suggested some modifications the the SX88 Blind Scan there & received some polite replies

Good customer service goes a LONG way, I will always recommend somewhere if they give good service. And I will buy again.
In fact I will buy the SX88+ over the Edision because Octagon have been very helpful.

Good customer service does go a long way. So does bad customer service.
Octagon also asked me in 2017 to prepare and send .ts files so problems could be solved which I did. I checked several months later and these files had not been downloaded. So I did all of that work for nothing.

Maybe others will have better luck, but I am not interested in buying anything else from Octagon unless they can actually fix the things they say they will fix. Saying you will do something and never doing it does not cut it!

Anybody else finding that the remote control doesn't respond when you switch from a pal channel to a ntsc channel?

Fix: to unplug receiver and plug back in

Not even the power off button works

It works perfectly.
I tried using the channel editor or going directly from one channel to the other.
I do not have any problems .
A question to try to understand your problem: have you worked with Satdreamedit?

Thanks for testing, maybe its an issue only related to the SX88+ and not the SX88.

No it is not ,my test is with a SX88Plus
but have you worked with satdreamedit ?
satdreamedit causes a lot of problems as soon as you work on satellite lists or programs.
A lot of unexpected problems have come from that.
If that's the case I advise you to go back to a setting that has not been changed.

I haven't heard of or used satdreamedit. All the plugins and add-ons installed are default.

I think we should change the file because we are here in the SX88.

The SX88 and the SX88+ in theory are the same box with the exception of the DD+ chip. So it should be affecting both boxes. The problem is being caused by my Video/Output settings hopefully this can be sorted soon by Octagon.

While the Octagon SX88 is a very good receiver however it would be a better guide to signal quality if it was in dB % like the Dr HD & TM5400 M3,
The SX88 gives me lots of SQ=100% that display the correct SQ more accurately on the TM6902HD,

Yep the signal quality on the SX88 is pretty rubbish, on the transponders that it can't lock it gives a reading of 0% even though there is some signal there. I was watching a channel on Badr 26e in poor weather and the signal reading was flicking between 56% and 0%.

I have the SX88+ and not the standard SX88, they both run on the same firmware so I'm presuming the issues on one will be the same on the other (apart from the DD+ sound problem).

Would you say it's just a poor signal meter reading on it or is the tuner actually quite weak too?
When you were dropping signal on Badr 26 did you try another box?

No complaint about the sensitivity of the standard SX88. The signal meter is a bit of a dull instrument which means fine tuning the dish to get the best signal can be a lengthy guessing process.
