I tried installing the SX88 firmware on purpose when I first got it, fortunately it wouldn't let me . I've been told by Octagon they're planning on introducing the dB and BER so thats awesome news.

10722 V 27500 on 7E also doesn't work so there's definitely a problem with scanning radio channel only transponders.

Ok with me on both the SX88 and the SX8...Something is a amiss at your end..

I've been told by Octagon they're planning on introducing the dB and BER so thats awesome news.

The first time I saw the signalbar of the SX8 HD One, I told octagon to put the same on the SX88(+).
On the other hand for the dB, I hope but I am not very optimistic.

I get no signal at all on 11.509 with my tbs 5925 or openbox sx6 which also decodes some multi streams. Is my LNB the reason or my location ?

This is the point I've repeatedly made - users should really be subject to occasional updates for genuine improvements to software that has been thoroughly Beta-tested. Yes, Octagon listen and respond, but that shouldn't need to happen on the scale we' ve seen.

Indeed, I admire Octagon for keeping up the struggle against bugs, but this piece-meal approach seems a bit slip-shod. Still, better than no R&D at all I suppose.....

They've said themselves they're very busy at the moment, the impression I get is they wanted to get the stalker improvements out the way so they can work on the big stuff. The next update should be next week

Another day another update, the latest version is now v1.04.56. I spoke with Octagon and they've said they're still working on the dB/BER implementation.

So I've ordered a SX88 but should I have got a SX88+ ? Will I get all the audio from the various multistreams on 5w for example with just a SX88 ? Btw can anyone decode 12.711 on 5w ?

If any of those multistreams are Dolby Digital+ you need the SX88+

If you want 5°W all multistream with AC3+ sound (DD+) you must order SX88+ all works well also 12711 LA 7 HD and all italians MIS/PLS + all French MIS/pls.

If you want audio from the french channels on 5w then yes you should have gone for the SX88+. The italian channels (5w) on the other hand will work fine. 12.711 on 5w will decode fine on the SX88 and SX88
