I should have included this in my original post but as you can see the folders are there from the failed recordings but they are all empty. I'll keep trying to see if I can get it working.

Can you try recording Talkingpictures on your on your 15gb usb with FAT32? Talkingpictures has about the lowest bitrate.
I tried it on an 8gb stick with 4gb free and it recorded OK.

I think the problem is that the PVR and media player just quit, if there is a buffer overrun or underrun, rather than stuttering.

I tried using the media player to play back an old sample from 3sat SD, which has a high bitrate, from the 8gb stick. The first time, it played a couple of seconds and then quit. The second try played OK, but what it had read the first time would have still been in the cache. Even higher bitrate HD will play, from the stick, with other players.

Nope still no luck and even with the USB stick formatted to NTFS I still get the same problem.

I'll have another stab at it tomorrow. On another note does anyone think the playback speed is somehow speeded up on most channels? I hope its not me going crazy again . It's almost as if the framerate isn't set correctly in the settings, the number of channels affected seem to be around 60-70% of all channels.

I asked a question, to which nobody answers: have you used an editor?
You have so much problem with your SX88 that the only solution is probably to make a factory reset
and to reinstall everything from the beginning,
and especially not reuse an old backup !!

Agree, back to basics and deleting hopefully the possible inherent corruption.
Nearly certain that this has happened to us all at times and have read recently that for some reason the use of an editor with this receiver seems to bring problems.......not for all but seems a current topic.

Anyway good luck 'mikeisyou' with this.

Hi stephan94 can you ask Octagon to add dB for Signal Quality as the current % value is inaccurate & I am unable to use this receiver for my strongest transponders chart,

For example transponders that show as 100% on the SX88 most are of a much lower percentage,
The TM5402HD M3 had the same problem until they introduced dB for SQ as this is a more accurate way to measure signal strength.

Yes, would certainly be nice to see the dB and think it may lift their sales of the receiver as surely a lot of us here and others like the feature.

Anybody else having problems scanning 11480 H 3215 on Eutelsat (5.0w)? The transponder is just radio channels but seems a bit weird I can't scan it in even at 100% Signal Quality.

You haven't installed a SX88(non plus) Back up to it by any chance?

I tried installing the SX88 firmware on purpose when I first got it, fortunately it wouldn't let me . I've been told by Octagon they're planning on introducing the dB and BER so thats awesome news.

While they are at it, can they put a SX88+ in a proper box so it looks like a sat receiver and hasn't got wires coming out on every side
