CJ,

I am able to enter BISS keys and clear a picture without having flashed the "Smart Module" file.
It sounds like the smart module file is an equivalent to the Technomate "addon002p" file?
Do you know if the "Network" functions will work without the smart module?

Also, would you know if there are any other files I should flash the F15 with? The ones I am aware of are a firmware patch such as 125p, my channel list in NDF format and possibly the smart module, are there any more?

Finally, when testing last night I did a blind scan of 12.5W at the same time with the F15 and D15, the F15 picked up a lot more channels.
However, for some of the channels that both the F15 and the D15 picked up only the D15 gave a picture, whereas the F15 gave a "No Audio/Video" message even though I had a picture from the D15 at the same time. Any thoughts on this, the satellite was 12.5W and the frequency was 12675 H, SR3178, channel name "Service 01"? It was an ITN world cup feed so may be active again today and for the next few weeks.

''are there any more?''

You need the 'xx' info file (duly filled in by you) to get to the rest.

zorbua,

What is the "xx" file info, is this a file I upload that saves me having to enter some Network connectivity details manually in the on screen menus?
I am OK adding the network connectivity details in the on screen menus manually if I wish to use those options but this particular F15 is for feed scanning and viewing only.

Thx

Hi,

Would anyone please be able to scan the signal from 12.5W on 12718 H,, SR36510 into their F15 and let me know if they get audio/video?
It is the Telecom Italia Media Broadcasting multistream and I pick up the 7 channels from stream 33.
http://www.lyngsat.com/Eutelsat-12-West-A.html

I can scan the channels in OK and have a good signal level (14.8db) but get no audio/video on all these channels even though they are listed as FTA on lyngsat.

Thx

You won't get these on any receiver as they are multistream transponders. You need a pc card to view them.

Or are you saying they work on the D15?

CJ,

No, I am not saying these ones give a picture on the D15 and not the F15, that was a separate issue. It was just the fact that I can lock onto these but get no A/V from the F15. You have kindly explained the reason for this re the multistream aspect.

The other issue was that the D15 locked onto a 12.5W signal at 12675 H, SR3178 and it gave a picture. The F15 also locked onto the same signal but it would not give a picture, all it gave was the "No Audio/Video" message?

I had a look see at 12.5W on 12718 H,, SR36510, with both DB 8000 (having an Alps Tuner) and the F15....as you say get a good signal but no Video and Audio comes in broken.
Had a go at 12505 V 01555 2/3 8PSK (Echorouk TV) on same Sat and this comes in ok, but freezes continually with 6.5/7 db.
There is another station ''TG Norba 24'' 12594H 01875 5/6 QPSK DVB-S2 with a signal of 10.5/11db but again with continuous freezes as well. With the F15 it was more struggling to keep the picture stable...the cuts were longer and more blank screen. DB wise I
would say it was 1/2 to 1 db lower than the Alps. This same situation also happened at 1W where I tried to lock Svtb channel at 11216V.
The F15 was finding it harder to lock. I am using F/W 1.25p on the F15 and a Gibby 1.2 Dish.

It was an ITN World Cup feed from Brazil, it might be active closer to the time of the matches, I will check it later and if I find it active again with same issue of pictures on D15 and no A/V on F15 I will post a notification in this topic.

Hi,

Would any F15 owners please be able to run a full range Blind Scan on 12.5W and then check afterwards if it picked up the following channels?

I have been testing my F15 in comparison with my D15 and for all of the below channels the D15 picks them up on a blind scan but the F15 does not pick them up.

1. 11340H SR2136 (Cancao Nova Interna), signal level 15.8db
2. 12577H, SR2222 (Coralo SAT), signal level 13.9db
3. 12595H, SR1875 (TG NORBA 24), signal level 13.5db
4. 12672H, SR2141 (RIT), signal level 13.2db

Very strange that my F15 never picks these up on a blind scan yet my D15 always does, is this a bug in the blind scan functionality of the F15? All of the channels listed above are SR2222 or lower. A manual scan with the F15 gets all of these channels.

I have repeated the test with several different firmware versions (1.21pV4, 1.22p and 2.10p) on the F15, all producing the same results. The above results re failing to pick up channels on a blind scan that the D15 can pick up are a not what I expected from the F15.

I do notice it misses some transponders. But oddly enough, they usually seem to be high powered ones...

mar-val,

It does not find them on a blind scan, however it does find them on a manual scan.

Considering that the D15 does find these low SR transponders on a blind scan then perhaps the F15 should not have such a good reputation as a DXer's receiver. For me this is a major fault in the functionality, the reputation the F15 has is not justified.

I have one spare F15 left over from the small group buy that I did, I have offered it to the first in line "NI Sat Man", if they do not want it I am getting rid of this box as soon as I can.

I am not much of a feed hunter but I do need a high sensitivity receiver...the F15 fits the bill perfectly.
