Ordered the F15

for me the most important is -showing real CNR below lock, (pc card doesnt show it on DVBS TPs)
-receiver shows CNR of any modulation- 16-,32apsk,continous stream
-sensitive tuner for clear picture(for lock is better pc card-only DVBS TPs)
-it is very good for the final tune of the dish
-real time analyzer for finding inclined or any satellite
I dont use it for blindscanning , I have crazyscan.
f15 has many more bugs, you dont know about, but I still have it.
It took me a lot of time since Ive learned to work with it .
Best combination for DXer is F15,TBS card, openbox 810,maybe some others. ;)

I can tell you now i have owned out of the new receivers the D15 the TM F3/5 and i also have the 5402HD Mark 3 version and all of these receivers are identical made in the same factory just rebadged for the different company's, and not one of them can come close to either the F15 or the Original mark 1 version of the 5402HD.


Which brings me onto the next question the Mark 1 version of the 5402 which is hardware identical to the F15 did recently only a couple of months ago have a patch released for it which finally fixed the blindscan. So if enough members contact DrHD about the F15 i cant see why they cant port over the patched fixed firmware as i guess with the hardware being the same the software patch writing team will do all models.

And before you shift your F15 have a look at 3.1° east at the Libya One Channel 11049 H 1000 none the later batched receivers can resolve this channel properly yet the F15 can no problem, also worth a look is the Nabaa TV on 20.0° west 12733 H 1500 the F15 locks and shows a picture instantly the other Models take anything between 60 - 90 seconds to lock and show anything.

4.0° west the 11389 H 27500 again the F15 locks this and gives me a picture for these channels but the other 3 just give me a locked signal bar with the usual No Audio/Video

For me, some good points there.
.....Libya One Channel 11049 H 1000, my 5402 Mk3 does not 'see' it!
.....same sat, channel 'assirat ch' 11583 H 1110 shows a db of 19.2db yet most of the other scanned frequencies are around the 9.0db............¿is 19.2db realistic?

Only had the Mk3 a few weeks but well pleased.

No time at the mo to look into the other sats etc you mention but thanks for the very interesting post and thread generally.

@digi247 - I am following this discussion about F15. This is interesting to read all this facts about receiving "problematic" frequencies..There are also other receivers who are able to lock mentioned Libya One Channel 11049 H 1000 on 3.1° E and Nabaa TV on 20.0° west. One of them is Vu Solo2 who has no problems with that trp. It is true that Nabaa Tv needs 10-20 sec to lock properly and to show proper picture.
Picture can be poster later in the evening.

Gets U thinking so tried the cheapest receiver to date for me , the Ferguson Ariva 52E, which cost me only €49 new and was able to instantly lock 11049 H 1000 at 3.1ºE.

Did not bother in detail simply added to the Astra 2A transponders just to test and voila!

Only bought the Ferguson to have the BER readings but it has proved to be fantastic and with a very very sensitive tuner.....use this always for the Astra 2 channels in this 'fringe' area of Spain.

No doubt about though it the F15 seems doing the job.

I have tested at least 25 receivers in the last five years. The F15 has the most sensitive tuner of all, as I've mentioned previously, slightly better then the TM 5302 and X2 premium. The only quirck I have with it is that it doesn't scan in tp with sr under 2k.

Nothing to do with the F15 but, just scanned these two in no trouble at all, cleared straight away on my Protek 9760HD.
