I had those wall mounting clamp things from Satellite Superstore too. They do the job but they are expensive.
Agree with you there, but disappointed at their susceptibility to rust, especially considering the price!

Must be painted then rather than powdercoated or galvanised ?

They are "supposed" to be powder coated! (powdered rust I think!) :D

I live locally to Satellite Superstore so was able to get their wall mounts cheap. Cheap because they had just welded them and there was no paint on them. Think I got a £80 discount if I remember correctly. Had to prime them and paint anti rust paint on them. As I said they were on the wall for a good 7 or 8 years and there wasn't a sign of rust on them. The pole on the other hand had not been painted and was showing signs of rust.

If this was offered as an option (bare) then they would be better value for money ;)

I just arrived at the right time. Was lucky. I know how expensive they are. And they are based in a semi house too in Gateshead on a housing estate. Still cost me the best part of £120 though.

I got lucky, I got these spider legs for 'free' when I bought the 1224 motor for £130. No practical experience with them, as they are on the garage floor that gets constantly flooded but there's vert little rust on them.

Or you could just guy it, I can only use TKs on mine and there's too much above the gutter to remain stable without guying it, being so close to the cliffs and everything the Channel can throw at it there's every chance it would rip the corner of the wall out without them. The trick is to get it plumb without guys then attach them and reset it vertically.

Yes, I'm that close to the edge LOL Even with the guys and the motor reinforcing I still watch the weather forecast and remove the reflector if it's forecast over a F8. The Gib reflector nylocs are all bonded to the bracket so it's quite quick to do. The string is a permanent fixture so I can keep a check on any warping due to the gales.

Should add the photo was taken during solar outage with the dish pointing at 66E :)

Ah I see, that's why it's so high, you have to look over your house (bungalow?) to follow the arc. Is that what those lines are in the picture on your dish, string! I was wondering, I thought it was scratches on the print or something. :D Yeah I don't think I'd want to leave my dish up in a gale if I was in your position, better to be safe than sorry. Where is your 1.8 sited? Is that it in your profile picture?

My 1.8 will be going up nearly as high R/B but I have this to support it and I will be building a roof around it.

A roof around it??? :confused I've got to see a design.

That is a lot of dish to have up high, will need some substantial foundations for that pole! Is that a 4½" pole, about 4/5 metres long? It looks like a bloody great big gun barrel :D
