Good job we're off to Murcia in a month!

And for some reason, I thought of a narrowboat marina of the same name, if slightly different spelling... :confused

Keeping fingers crossed for Cropredy this T, F and Sat..... Despite living pretty close for 18 years this is the first time we've got beyond thinking of going. Topping the bill on Thursday is Alice Cooper.... unusual choice for a folky festival

Summer fruits are aripening, so OH has picked all the blackcurrants off her allotment, and we have started making this years batch of blackcurrant jam.

I've been getting heavy crops of Yellow Zucchini and three varieties of Climbing Bean for over a fortnight. The weather has been perfect.

Well, it's been stonkingly hot down here in the Vaucluse although we're girding our loins to prepare for the thunderstorm that's been promised for tonight and tomorrow. There were a few warning rumbles today but no rain although it has been overcast at times.

We've got it quite cool at the moment, about 32c, but looks like its going to get a tad hotter very soon !!! http://www.janetanscombe.com/news/heatwave-coming-summer-is-about-to-get-very-hot.html

I just love days by the pool enjoying a few beers and a barbeque :) and a 'skinny-dip' (not a pretty site ) to cool down in the very early hours when its too hot to sleep is wonderful.

Rhubarb is starting to suffer a bit now though. Difficult to get hold of here so grow my own. Tends to be on the thin side but we get a few tasty crumbles from it each year, so its worth the effort.

Weather here is how I like it.

A chance of rain does not trump 24 degree days and 13 degree nights.

Summer's having another go at making a return I think, Wednesday was rather nice, about 20 degrees or thereabouts, and today's not looking too bad either, which is handy cos I'm awaiting delivery of my shed that I bought, so should be a good day to put it up and paint it... :D

I just wish they'd hurry up and get here...

New shed arrived, duly assembled, slowly, and it looks wonky, might have to redo the roof too (not put the felt on yet) as I think I mounted it a bit squiffy cos of the positioning of the shed... :-doh

Looks good to me. Unforunately wife is none too keen on seafood (it's the bones) so it seldom comes my way like that.

These sardines are a bit big. If you get them 2/3rds the size you can eat the lot, bones included, and head too if it takes your fancy.

More jam making this afternoon - strawberry and redcurrant, with the rc's off the allotment. First time we have tried this one, and initial thoughts are favourable - the tartness of the rc juice offsets the sticky sweetness of the strawberrys.

So 8 more jars join the 15 jars of blackcurrant jam from a couple of weeks ago :)

Nice one a/s. Brings back fond memories of my grandmother making various jams for the winter. Yummy with pancakes on cold winter mornings.
