Keep an eye on the local news over the next few weeks.

This is the time of year the councils announce their gritting services then try to hide the fact they have taken some routes out. Last year Borders council almost managed to sneak past everyone that they had cut 100 miles of gritting routes by making their headline sound like they had added 100 miles.

And don't forget the chaos in The Toon when the council made a mess of gritting and made a mess of excuses. People were stuck for five hours or more, nine hours in some cases.

Now the mist has burned off its a lovely sunny day up here - Ive made a start on revamping the lower part of the dish farm as Ive lost 5E & 10E due to trees or the hedge. So a major swap around of dish locations has started. :D

Dreich? Gaelic word?

Not sure of the origins but in English its one of those dull, dank, mizzly, misty mornings that Scotland is so good at producing for 9 months of the year :D

I pronounce it "dreek"

It translates to 'crap' :(

Sums it up nicely :-rofl2

Think it'll be 9 for a while - cant fit the 19E dish back in so that lnb will be swapped for an offset on the 13E dish if I can squeeze on in between the 13E & 23.5e lnbs!.

Only on the stock market? They land their aircraft so heavily at EMA compared to the other operators.

Can't you trim the hedge a bit so you can get them back ?

got a similar thing here neighbours tree has grown a little, mine is already above the gutter but that blocks 39/42e for a while, just hoping some wind in winter blow it down

Yes. It's £1 extra for Automatic Landing.

I cut the hedge back as hard as I can but its decades old and thick as anything - I cant do anything about the trees.

Ive managed to get the European beam of 5E back this afternoon, thas good enough, Im not going to waste my time with the Nordic beam its just too weak on the dishes Ive got available.

Will be adjusting theings up for 9E tomorrow.

No - just been having a go for it using the newly adjusted 5E lnb. Not a trace of 11554H here.. Nor 1W :(
I think 5E is as far as I will get round unless some trees come down in the winter gales.

Yah!! finally managed to get Eut 3D @ 3E - definite obstruction from the branch of a tree as I could see the signal going up and down and watch the branch moving around in the stiff easterly breeze.

Will probably have more luck with it when the leaves drop. Just blind scanning now to see if anything else apart from 11554H turns up

Slimline lnb currently bodged onto the 7E Penta with zip ties! :-rofl2

Very warm here today, as it eventually was yesterday after a chilly start.
All the flying insects trying to enter my ears and nose remind me of our recent Holiday!
