Btw the latest weather news is sleet or snow in a number of places before dawn.

(Not in tivu's 'lining' though eh !)

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

It was rather sunny today, felt quite warm sitting out the front this afternoon, but as soon as the sun hid behind a cloud,it just went ridiculously cold, so, yeah, not summer just yet, and definitely no BBQs...

This morning felt quite nice, managed 1 hour gardening, before work, then as soon as I'd finished the rain started, and doesn't look like stopping. The radio warned of floods and the equivalent of 3 months rain in the next 24 hours, not my idea of a nice summer !!!!!!!!!

Seems to have been heavy rain, all night, here, and it's still raining !!!!!!
Hasn't a national newspaper forecast that this summer will be even worse than last summer, more rain, and less sun?

Though today has turned out to be pretty sunny, yesterday was cloudy, wet and damn cold. Halfway through the afternoon I decided to light the logburner and almost set the chimney on fire, I assume due to a build up of peasant residue....

Anyway, I've set to with the sweeping kit (there being a scarcity of small children to send up the flue) and got the chimney pretty clean now. Hopefully I won't need to light it until winter arrives again......should be about the second week of August.......

Constant rain here, seems since early yesterday evening, the garden is under water, again. Fortunately I managed to get some gardening done yesterday as I don't think it will be dry again for some time.
Off to work now and see how my old windscreen wipers cope with this heavy rain !!!!!!

been backwards & forwards between the 2 buildings that make up our site today. When the wind dropped its been reasonably pleasant but by eck when the northerlies got up its been bloody baltic again, bitterly cold wind that cuts right through you.

"Torrential downpours caused by showers" is our Regional forecast today.

Curious wording, but I think I might just defer re-Pointing the eaves for a day orc two.

Not a nice day here either.....grey, overcast, rainy and I've been ill for the last couple of days too....so lit the log burner this morning....got it all going nicely, turned it down and left it ticking over when 'bang'.....the glass cracked.....over €100 for a replacement.......

Sadly no, they aren't. Replaced two or three glasses in the old (now defunct) log burner but to be fair only stuck 4mm ordinary glass in, so not surprising that they lasted just over a winter.....

this place looks reasonable for glass Pete. http://www.redhotglass.net/Stove_Glass.html
Thanks for that Rolf....but going on exchange rates the price on their calculator works out at about €95 plus carriage.....the one over here is just over €100, including free delivery and a free bottle of glass cleaner LOL....may get in touch with redhotglass by email anyway just to see what their carriage charges are....
