Does anyone know which part of Ka Band this bird has on board?

Good question - iv'e done searches on Band A , C & D a few days or so ago but seen nothing - the test activity has ramped up a bit now so i think it's time to do another Ka band search.

Likewise, I looked at 17.5-20.7GHz a few days ago but didn't see anything new.

Extended Ku:
This looks like a full transponder noise test (80MHz wide). The LNB (SMW Q-PLL) is not so good at 13G with a NF of 2.5dB at 13.4 to about 6dB at 13.65. Plot: Vertical pol. Magenta = live trace, blue = maximum held trace (~30 minutes)

42E_13442.38V_CW+Noise.png

For a short time there was on-off keyed, low rate, data on 13400.4V. The noise seems to extend a little beyond the low end of the band.

At 21.436V I am seeing what looks like a beacon. This is using the LNB I bought for 16E and 7E from Inverto.

These look like transponder tests like on Ku band. The signal is varying in amplitude a lot but still on 21.436V

Could be Simon, there's no 42East beacon documented at that frequency - looking at the meter now (13.26) but nothing showing.

The Ka-Band frequency reported by @SimonE is not consistent the the Ka downlink frequency range in the table provide by @adonis1 ?

The extended Ku-Band range listed in the table is covered in full by the Chinese extended Ku LNB's we bought.
I might have some of these left over from the group buy we did. Now that there are known to be signals in this range these LNB's must have jumped up in value to stratospheric wad.

I wonder if the signal I see is from Turksat 4A? Do you have the plan for that bird? Otherwise I have run out of Ka Band satellites at this location 42E.

Nothing here either at the moment. It went around 1530 UK time. When present it was at best around 12dB above noise floor.

21436 V was active for a short time before.

There has been test activity on Ka Band D / Ku normal / Ku Extended and sometimes it's been difficult to be in the right place at the right time to catch anything - So .... using one of my previously modded Inverto Ka/Ku lnbf's iv'e cobbled up some bracket work to fit on my roof mount CM 1.2.
Using the Ka/Ku port on the lnbf i can (21.434 V up as i type) easily switch between monitoring Ku normal and Ka Band D by selecting Port 2 DiSEqC 1 on the GTCombo Antenna Setup screen - using a spec meter to view in real time is a bonus.

I just found it but it went off at around 15:30 UTC, before I could get a plot. Plain carrier.

Quite strong on a band B, circular pol LNB (21.4G is about 10dB down on in-band performance)

<edit> Back on at 1545 but at ~20dB lower level
