If you read the original conversation with the o/p, they also ended up using a swtich, though I'm not sure why if the receiver comes with two tuner inputs. Can you send a screenshot of the manual under set up for a two dish installation ?

You can get LNBs with up to 8 identical outputs. With the Technisat you'd connect two of those outputs to the two individual tuners, this enables you to watch one channel while recording another, similar to how a Sky+ box works. If you want more than one satellite you use DiSEqC switches so the receiver can connect to the correct LNB. The receiver is expecting to see the same setup on both tuners.

If you have single output LNBs you use a DiSEqC switch and connect them to one tuner only.

But what exactly means

It means it has two identical tuners. The firmware is not flexible enough to allow the two tuners to be setup individually.

Alright, thank you for your reply. So I definitely need this DiSEqC 1.0 switch. Any recommendation which one I should use? For example on amazon. Will this DiSEqC 1.0 switch allow me to do what I actually want to do? Basically never to change cables or settings. Both, 19.2E and 28.2 E satellite channels on this receiver. If you recommend one try to recommend one with 3-4 lnbs switch because I might add hotbird as well.

That's a poor design, not allowing you to set up the tuners individually, even basic enigma 2 receivers can allow you to set up fixed, and motorized, settings, for each tuner.
In the future you might want to switch your LNB's, to dual output, so that each tuner can be set up to receive all the satellites, for recording/viewing purposes, providing the software/hardware allows the receiver to do this.

Alright I googled it and it's like having 2 lnbs in one lnb. I am thinking of it to be honest.

I would send it back for a full refund if the seller could not provide software for an independent feed on each port.


The current machine is no better than an old B sky B box.

I'd like to know which FTA receivers avalable now can accomodate 2separately programmable tuners...
I have a Comag which works fine.. i have to think about my next . Or buy 2 single tuner receivers?

this is what happened to me...
7 months ago I grew afraid my Comag twin tuner would let me down & I bought a Technisat Tecnibox UHD S ...and then Comag grew back into great shape & the Technisat is still waiting in its box.
I need 2 independent tuners :1 on astra2 the other on a 13&19E monoblock ,with possibility of watching 9E ,16E,23E by moving the dish... works fine.And now it appears Technisat won 't allow this. Hence my query.
So,it appears I have a Technisat for sale....in France.

Programming is rather dependent on the image that is installed. Good news is that there is a multiboot option to try them out before sticking with your favourite.

No linux background needed.

I read the amazon presentation & they say it s a "combo" terrestrial (1tuner) & sat(1 tuner)
What I need is 2 SAT tuners
the terrestrial lands directly into my tv set...which manages it internally
