You might be anble to read it from the image at your end.

I can make out 'TH012R2HA' though the manufacturers site does not have that model.

If you could ping off the metal top and take a clear picture I could identify the chipset as well.

The Ferguson 204 receiver has many similarities to the TM.

The tune they have installed is the EARDA EDS 10830FF0VG

Here's a few more images - unable to see chipset within tuner can though without a lot of de-soldering pain.

Just to reinforce what I was saying about the tuner sensitivity. I have just ran a C Band scan on SES 6@40W and all my other receivers download around 125 channels but the TM a massive 185 channels. All using the same Gardiner LNBs with OMT and Technisat multiswitch off a Precision 1.8 dish.20210710_090441.jpg20210710_091208.jpg

Unless I'm not seeing the solder, the top of the canister should prise off without trouble, which you appear to have done.

What is underneath if not the component side of the board ?

Nice result, it sounds like the TM-5402 (M4) has excellent tuner sensitivity and might become the "go to" receiver for the feed men.
Forum member "manic01" has done some excellent work in getting software improvements to the receiver since it was launched.

Some questions:
1. Did you include an Octagon SF8008 in the batch of receivers tested?
2. Does the receiver allow presentation of the SNR in dB or is it fixed on %
3, Was the SportsMax frequency of 4139V, SR10000 one of the frequencies locked and what was the signal level if it was?

That Precision 1.8m looks a nice install with the switch box mounted on the frame, finished off with the Precision logo on the dish, a nice touch.

That's as far as i could desemble ? - to get a view of the underside of the green pcb board shown meant some tricky micro de-soldering which i would have probably knackered the tuner.... needs somebody in the electronics trade to attempt it lol.

So what is directly underneath the metal lid that you removed , another PCB ?

(there is another reason for looking closer of course, preparation for a cooling system)

directly under the metal top cover of the tuner is that pic of the green pcb which seems to have not too much population - i suspect the more interesting stuff is underneath but as i say it's a bit tricky to de-solder what's required to see underneath. The only info i could get from the underneath board is that pic which starts with '27MHz SCL etc'

Just scanned with the SF8008 using the define sw , ney bad coming in second with 158 channels.

No, I couldn't lock Sportsmax never locked that here on a 1.8.

The TM just uses % on the signal scales, really no reason why that cannot be done in another sw update, Octagon seen somewhat recluctant to do this..

Yes, MB, put a new control box on the pole, that houses the multiswitch and is fed by my 1.3 Precision for Ku.20210710_114600.jpg

Seconded :Y ... iv'e got a few suggestions to put forward that are more 'enthusiast' related but i'll let them carry on with the more 'Domestic' niggles first.
** I ran a crude tuner/receiver performance test the other night between a few different receivers - TM Mk4 / TBS6983 / StarSat SR-X7 Extreme / GT Media V9 / GTMedia V8X / Freesat V7 HD and the TM Mk4 had slightly the edge of maintaining lock before picture break-up.

Would you please be able to scan 40.5W using the Ocatgon SF8008 using an E2 image such as OpenVIX or OpenATV rather than the Define software?
I am not sure if the Define software utilises the same blind scan plugin as the full blown E2 images so there might be a difference in the number of channels received?

If the TM-5402 (M4) can outperform an SF8008 runnning a full E2 image in terms of number of channels scanned it is definitely one for the feed men to consider.

Also, there are quite a few T2-M1 frequencies in C-Band on 40.5W, can the TM-5402 (M4) lock and resolve these?

I cannot get to 55W, 47W is my limit, next doors extension gets in the way.
Will run another scan using E2 at 40W see what the difference is..

My bad, typo, I meant 40.5W, now updated my post.
Same scan as previous but with SF8008 running OpenATV or OpenVIX or some other full blown E2 image.

I would like to see how the SF8008 with E2 image stacks up against the TM-5402(M4) in terms of channels scanned.

That is a good result from the TM-5402 (M4) to be able to outperform a TBS6983 card.

I rate the TBS6983 as one of the best cards they made for enthusiast use.
If anyone wants to sell one I got folding green wad 'ere waiting.

Only talking a knats doofa in it and probably 95% of the time that knats doofa isn't required, but the TBS cards and some of the other receivers i have have far more capabilities going for them - i do like my TBS cards i have to say.
