I have Newcs running at the moment and its perfect and i mean no freeze no glitches if all users use N lines.

The problem is with CCcam whenever I use CCcam it freezes every ten minutes. So really if you want freeze free users you have to give them N lines but you can't limit the reshares only the rate of ecm's.

I had this with my blue card low ecms but sort of spikes with cccam however I am testing the white card ultra low ecms and now freezes fingers crossed it probably **** up now

Very interesting info mate, thanks for that. When you put the card in the sky box for 3 days did you leave it on any particular channel ? if so which one, or did you try different channels at different times ?

It was set on sky1, to best catch ecm updates.

I thought within 3 days there would be enough EMM's to wake the card up..

I guess not, I don't believe anyone has had this issue before..

However, as stated it was rock solid with my settings - only that issue with the card going to sleep.

Well I seem to have it working perfectly now on local box and sharing to other boxes on home network, with Clines and its not freezing. The ecm time is real low,0.089 on Setanta Ireland is the best I have managed, channel zapping is instant, no lag at all. On the boxes connected with clines they are showing hop2 and ecm time is around 0.122.

I am not completely confident with Newcs yet and I just edited my Xml file, tried it, edited a bit more, would one of you kind chaps have a look at it and see if i need to add or remove anything.

I have it set for the top cardreader, I added my name and password through newcs management in the web browser.

Guys, what I'd like to do is produce a tutorial video. I would do this in the form of recording my entire desktop with audio in my dumb ass northern english accent !. I'll show how to setup NewCS and how to add new users. I'll also explain how to share with CCcam users. Would this be of use to anyone ? Please let me know and I'll see if I can do something about it. Please bare in mind the video will be specific to sly uk in a Dreambox.

when setting up a newcs card server does the card have to be in the slot for the newcs / cccam to work.
iam been trying to get mine to woork with each for a few days now. when i go into cccam info - the newcamd server always appears offline. i can ping it from cccaminfo ok. when i go into newcs interface the users always are always offline.
i have followed af lot of different tutorials and iam wondering now does the card have to be in the slot for the setup to be online?

The term offline is not really the right phrase to use. If there is no card in the reader in cccam it will show nothing. If you box is on then then cccam/newcs are programs and they are running. What happens when your client changes to an encrypt channel. Cccam checks your server to see if you have a card for that channel. if not then the client in your info will not show as connected.

Thats what of sort of happens

in cccam a peer can have no card but can still be connected and are shown 'online'. i take it newcs works in a different way.
i would have thought that cccam work have shown as been connected to a newcamd server.

when you say no card you mean he is requesting keys from you then yes. Newcs is just a card reader and then passes its info to cccam. Then cccam manages all your connections

If your NewCS card server has no card inserted in the configured reader, then yes it will appear offline and CCcam will not connect to it. The NewCS debug output will report something along the lines of 'Incoming Connection To Not Ready Server'

Thats telling you that newcs is seeing an incoming connection, but it isn't ready and so doesn't allow the connection. Put the card in and will allow connections to it.

start it via telnet and use the -d switch.

For example, telnet in to your box.
cd /usr/bin
./newcs_166 -d

i have this newcs sorted. have entitlements etc etc. how do i get my newcs/cccam setup to read from my local card instead of a peer.

If you're giving out Nlines then you need to add the users to your NewCS server, not your CCcam. We need to see your NewCS debug output and your newcs.xml , CCcam debug output is not important with this problem ...

i have reflashed box. do drivers need to be updated so that the dm800 will read the card correctly?
