I too am getting a litte concerned, I have just logged into my account and my order details are not available. Ordered on March 12th. Gonna phone them now

They shouldnt have taken anything from your account until they have the stock in, thats what i have been told anyway.

I am gettingmine from a shop i have always used, i have bought 800s cards etc from them and he is straight down the line. he told me from the off that they had none, no one in europe has an "expected" delivery date, VU boxes are dependent on broadcom chips and with these in short supply the vu boxes cant be shipped.

He said he will email me when they get them in stock.

Yeah, thats the issue I was already billed on the credit card the first day plus a ton of inter-currency conversion charges. Now I am left in the hanging, since a month. I also received a mail regarding the shortage of broadcom chip problems. That sounds a little silly in this day and age of factory assembly.

I have been told by these guys that the stock would be replenished by mid April.

Looks like my latest email from them is the same as yours Oneforall. Apologising but saying that there is a world shortage of the broadcom chip.

I would have been prepared to wait quietly if they had been upfront from the start, but on initially contacting them they told me they had a few units in stock and so I went ahead and ordered. They then mailed me to say that I was number 3 in the waiting list , followed by another 2 emails pushing back the expected delivery date but confirming they received a few but these were aready allocated. I asked them how many they got as if the boxes they did receive was greater than 2 then I wanted mine pronto.

They then emailed another member of this forum who has ordered one also, confirming to him that their order was confirmed as having arrived in Europe on Wednesday 24th(email in post 19)

The bit that really Pi~#ed me off but was this "Please note, we will happily refund your money in full, minus a small 2% credit card handling/processing charge if you deem this waiting period to be totally unacceptable".

I have written to them asking to be informed of a date not later than that I can expect to be in possession of the goods and if I deem this unacceptable I will be expecting a full refund as they chose to debit my card for goods they knew they were not able to provide me and infact mislead me.

Yeah, I am waiting for the next chapter.
The issue is simple, these guys sold the boxes to us when the prices were lower. They then roped in other buyers who were willing to pay more. So clearly, even though we bought it earlier than the others, our orders are not being fulfilled. They would loose more money in profit, if the new buyers demand their money back. In order to stop that from happening, they are pushing the early buyers back in the row, again and again.

Straightforward economics. Unfortunately its screwing us.

BTW, do you know that already charge 1.5% extra ad credit card processing fees when you buy from them? Why are they demanding 2% as 'processing' fees now?

This is a dirty business these days...it's very bad to raise prices just to take opportunity of lack of availability of boxes on the market, they are not the only shop doing this, another shop and famous one called Satking in Germany raised their price from 449 to 489, guess where i am going to buy from? not Satking.

BTW, even EUR 449 is an inflated price. It was originally EUR 399. The main distributor in Germany HM-Sat noticed the popularity and demand, and forced all the retailers to raise the price to 449. One can still get it for around 400, if one looks around.

well the shop i use is goldwafers he has been very honest with me all along. his prices have not changed and he will email me when stock is in, i will post here when that happens.

am going to contact the said company as ive not even had the obligatory email saying they are waiting for the broadcom chip!

still saying to me that its 10-14 working days!!! been busy with other things last month so no time to play satellites, but some 1 is going to get a red hot poker shoved somewhere!!!!

im stuck with a crappy dm500 atm bad times lol....

yea ordered it from skysat-europe, only ordered it from them as was going to originally pick it up as they said online it was in stock (as its local to me) sadly i then got the 10-14 days bit from them, fed up with waiting i called and got the responce 'mail was sent' but i never received anything!
saying that it would be 16th!

ill believe that when i c it!!

I spoke to them Tuesday afternoon Ian. After continuous re-dial for over an hour. They stated that they will definately be in receipt of stock on April 16th. Then qualified it it with the obligatory "we will email you if there are any changes". Hopefully I will receive no emails.
